Tommy Bowe Contract talks with the Ospreys

If Howlett leaves Munster at the end of the season, pay Bowe whatever we are paying him and more.

Bowe left Ulster because the IRFU offered him a shitty contract basically, Ulster were going nowhere and he wanted something new.

Tommy Bowe's contract runs out at the end of the season and he's chatting to the spray's.

I'm gonna guess that they'll offer him lots of money to stay...[/b]

Why you a Connacht fan now?

Thought I'd mix it up a bit. My three favourite Connacht players all scored against Worcester at the weekend aswell so I said I'd give it a bash.

Basically they're unreal.

I reckon hes having fun over there, while there is a chance to play in Munster or Ulster I cant see why he would return home.

Signing Bowe would be a brilliant move for Munster but I'm not convinced it would be a great move for Bowe. What I mean is, Bowe is scoring tries for fun in Swansea because the Ospreys like to shift the ball. At Munster he'd be reduced to a spectator. Look at Doug Howlett - prolific when playing for NZ and the Blues and averaging one try every 4 or 5 games for Munster.

Yup, Bowe will probably stay, especially with Scott Johnson at the healm and the attacking rugby that comes from that. The Ospreys are starting to look good this season (I know I say that at least once every year), and appear that they're gonna make it out of their group of death in the HC. Bowe looks to be having fun and enjoying his rugby, he's on form and getting lots of ball. Maybe he also fancies himself as a centre, he's gonna get that opportunity with the O's.

Bowe could come to Munster and join Earls in the mid-field....... Oooooo that would be heaven.

No it wouldnt.

Bowe is a world class winger, he doesnt play 12, and earls is not a centre.

Sounds mad to me.

Bowe is a top-quality winger, but if he came to Munster he wouldn't get the ball, that is why he might perform well in the mid-field. It is only speculation as he probably won't leave the Ospreys.

Your bang on there. That is why he will not go to Munster.

I believe he could be an international 13, I just dont think Munster would play him there.

I've been really impressed with Bowe when he's played 13, I'd take him there over Parker and Bishop.
My ideal backline would be:

9. Phillips
10. Hook
11. Shane
12. Henson
13. Bowe
14. Walker
15. Byrne

Not bad, really.

You really do need to get Gav back, Wales especially are really missing him.

Also Biggar > Hook I'm afraid.

Hmmm, well yerr I'd go with that. I can see Hook moving to the Blues once his contract is up.
Henson is currently going through intensive isolated training. I don't know if this means he'll be back in the new year or next season; but he definitely means business and by f*** do we need him.

:D I would love that
He may have been a bit all over the place in the O's 10 shirt over the last season (but very good in the Lions 10 shirt), but he can't be worse that Norton-Knightmare!
Where did you hear that about Henson? I really hope he;s back by well before the 6N!
And I hope Bowe stays at the O's, I really enjoy watching him play, especially when their back line has a good day. Btw, just read that he's been cited for the spear tackle vs Viadana.

'Henson is currently going through intensive isolated training'

What's wrong with Henson at the mo - is it injury or is he (as d papers have suggested on occasion) an emotional wreck?

He's been injured sinse 2005 mate. His groin has never quite been right since he got injured back then, and his ankle injury has been thought to be related. That's the reason why we haven't seen him kicking the ball much, as it's been painful for him do do so. Him and the O's have done the right thing in giving him the time needed to fully recover from these ****ling injuries and get back to 100% fitness for the first time in four years. The papers have just blown everything way out of proportion. No-one questioned Rhys Williams being injured for 2+ years yet still remaining on the Blues books did they?

I hope what Cyril says is true, because the quicker he returns, the better for the Ospreys and Wales.

Edit: yes Biggar is better than Hook and improving game on game. Hope Hook does go to the Blues, would do him and the Blues a world of good.
