Am I the only one who doesnt really get how the rankings work.. England being 4th and Wales 5th despite Wales getting further in the WC, Beating them away in the 6N (not done too often lets face it) and winning the grandslam.

The main reason was because England beat France before we did. They got quite a decent boost from that, and France dropped a decent amount of ranking points, so by the time we beat them we gained very little. Could all change over the summer though.

Do not get that either or how they worked that one out.

So France dropped a place when England beat them and when they drew to Ireland? When Wales met them they got less points for beating them due to a lower ranking and playing at home. Is that corect?

So there is no incentive for the SH nations sending over their strongest teams over for the European tours or the June tests?

You only won the same amount of games in the WC though, and your losses count against you as well (they do normally anyway, not 100% about RWC matches).
We're also still riding high on the back of beating Australia twice the other year.

You get more points for beating a higher ranking team. Also the venue play a role as you get more points for winning away matches. So England can score more points than SA by just winning one of the tests even if they lose the test series.
