Alright, a thread to keep all TRFers up to date on injuries for any and every team participating in the world cup.

The world cup warm-ups and Tri-Nations have already taken their toll, with several players having been ruled out or in doubt for the tournament. Among them Ireland's David Wallace, New Zealands Kieran Read, Wales' Mathew Rees and Gethin Jenkins, all players that are, or rather were, expected to play big roles in the New Zealand showpiece.

So, who have I missed?

He hasn't been ruled out, haven't seen an update on him yet, but initial concerns were that he was a doubt.

Jenkins for Wales is a big loss. Has Read been confirmed as not available due to injury? I thought Adam Thomson was the more serious injury concern?

What is the situation regarding Drew Mitchell? I've heard different and conflicting stories.

For SA, for those that don't know, players who would surely have been in the RWC except for injury include Juan Smith and Andries Bekker. Some players are still under an injury cloud but have been named in the squad and should be ready; Schalk Burger, Francois Steyn.

Wait, when was Gethin Jenkins ruled out?
I thought he was expected back for the second pool game?

Drew Mitchell is back and fit, I believe - played a few games in the Shute Shield, and then against Canada for the Aussie BaaBaas

As far as I know Jenkins has only been ruled out of the South Africa game and is aiming for the Samoa one to be back playing. Pity, could really use him vs SA!

Afa Pakalani and Cooper Vuna were also both named in the 50 man initial squad but both withdrew to stay eligible for Australia and protect their Super Rugby contracts.

Epi Taione, Hale T-Pole and Nili Latu were all still banned from the squad after a dispute over pay from the 2009 Pacific Nations Cup, there has since been controversy regarding the Tongan government demanding the return of Nili Latu but that is too long a story to go into detail here.

Canada

To all my knowledge, fully fit and available.

Japan

Christian Loamanu
was still banned from the national side after testing positive for marijuana in 2009, coach John Kirwan made a proposal for Loamanu to be reinstated but it was rejected by the Japanese authorities.
Ryohei Yamanaka was banned for two years after testing positive for drugs, he claimed the positive test was due to a cream he was using to grow a moustache.

Argentina

Juan Martín Hernández was ruled out after failing to recover from a knee injury suffered in March.

Alberto Vernet Basualdo withdrew himself from the squad to play for his club.

Alvaro Galindo was ruled out after failing to recover from a thigh injury sustained in the Top 14 semi final in May, he was replaced in the final 30 man squad by Genaro Fessia.

Nikki Walker was ruled out after suffering a knee injury in the final warm up match against Italy.

Sorin Socol had a dispute with coach Romeo Gontineac and accused him of "dictatorial behaviour" and withdrew himself from the squad.

Ricky Januarie retired from international rugby four days after the initial squad was named.

Rupeni Caucaunibuca, Vilimoni Delasau, Isa Nacewa all declared themselves unavailable citing "personal reasons".

Henry Speight declared himself unavailable to protect his Super Rugby contract.

Samoa

Gavin Williams was ruled out after suffering knee ligament damage.

Alapati Leiua was named in the initial 54 man squad, but renounced his eligibility as he still hopes to play for New Zealand.

(I think Ahsee Tuala did the same as Leiua as he did not feature at all during the summer, but I'm not one hundred percent sure)

Henry Tuilagi was named in the initial squad but later retired from international rugby.

Namibia

Skipper Badenhorst was still unavailable from international rugby.

Here are all the changes to the squads so far

Jerry Flannery breaking down again is hardly a surprise. He's barely been fit since he was selected on the 2009 Lions tour. He must seriously be considering retirement at this stage since his body doesn't seem to be up to the rigours of top level rugby. It's a shame for him because he's had a good, successful career.

Stephen Jones and Gethin Jenkins have been declared fit for the upcoming match against Samoa.
Only doubt is Ryan Jones, who is expected to be fit for the final Pool match against Fiji.

Big questions will be asked now too Snoop as it's the exact same problem and well knowing as I worked with Jerry in his rehab over the summer he didn't rush it and everything was done correctly it seems the calf just isn't working

Tuifua appears ok to play Wales whilst Pisi subject to scans this afternoon.
