The 2014/15 pre-season general news/discussion thread

Not being funny, but Burns is a wee bit on the small side to be playing 12. Besides, Leicester start the season with no real choice there - Williams is out, so it has to be Burns. He kicked fine on the NZ tour - not sure why people are in a rush to consider how to not have him kick for Leicester after one game. Far more beneficial to let him take the kicks and find his rhythm, he's a good goal kicker when he's on.

edit: Speaking of 10s as 12s, apparently the turning point in the Ulshaft-Exeter game (according to one Ulster fan there) was when Exeter went to Steenson 10 - Slade 12.

Agreed.

Burns is 6'1" & over 13 stone. He's only 5 kg lighter than Ryan Crotty. So yeah he could play 12 but he's a superb 10. Why force him into 12?

If I could build a team of premiership players he'd be my fly half.

Allen not exactly bigger than burns. Burns has put on more some mass, since glous (not much but some), I don't want him to play 12, but watching him play he has all the abilities to play there and one thing leicester does extremely well is worked out a players D.,

BTW Williams can play first match I believe.

I wasn't having a go at his kicking but if leicester wanted there best backs in I think burns could make a excellent 12 with game time.

Personally it's all confidence he had a good game from the tee against NZ.

As you said pre-season means almost nothing on the whole. I rate him highly as a 10 and will do until I see otherwise at leicester.

Also we have Bai as well in the squad who can kick.

He not in the premiership though?
GN10 didn't say which premiership, the ITM cup is often known as the "Premiership of NZ".

Tommy Seymour doesn't play in the Aviva, either, so I don't know what you're smoking!

Is he at Sale now..............last season he was with US Bessane who were relegated from Pro 2 in France...no?
I'm joking :p
I just googled rugby players whose surname is Seymour
