SuperRugby: Blues v Highlanders. 26/05/2012

Hahaha what were the Blues thinking there in the lineout  Easy try there for Thompson.

Wow Ben Smith has been impressive.

In my (biased) opinion Smith has been the best fullback in NZ for about the last 3 years - it looks like he will finally get a chance to show his stuff at international level this year.

Easy try for Thomson :D

That try to the Blues should've been allowed - the pass wasn't forward by the IRB rulings. Could've changed the game completely...

That being said, I prefer the Highlanders :p

Disagree, that pass was forward, started slightly forward and continued to go forward.

I agree - the ball was originally passed backwards in my opinion (though it is very debatable...)

Highlanders down to 14 now with Burleigh yellowed carded.

It travelled forward, but that's not the ruling. Came out of Nonu's hands towards the Blue's goal posts, and momentum carried it forward - ergo, not a forward pass.

EDIT: Ah you've edited your post :p Yeah I think if you watch it again it's fine, fantastic pass.

Well worked try for Mailau. Nonu has looked very dangerous since he came on.

Try for Blues.
Can't see them coming back to win this, but a losing BP isn't out of reach (though I think it may be, especially when Highlanders are back to 15).

Well I beg to differ, the pass started slightly forward and then momentum took it further forward. Ergo, forward pass.

Take a look at the ball while it's in mid air, it's pointing diagonally, with the far side facing the Highlanders far corner post (not as extreme as that, but angled in that direction). It's very hard to throw a pass forward while it's facing that direction - try it out :p

Try Woodock. Important kick here for Munro.... nails it.

Blues possibly lucky to score there because I felt that the Blues had knocked that on in the ruck before giving the pass to Woodcock.

Ben smith is easily the best of the NZ fullbacks and i agree he's been the best for a while. The others just dont have his allround game. Three games against ireland he must start atleast two of them i hope. I suggest everyone watch Dagg if he gets selected i bet he's nothing like the force he was last year.
