Super Rugby: Rebels - Force in Melbourne (15/02/2013)

To be fair - I'd pay to get rid of James O'Connor.....

I actually quite enjoyed this match, though I do set my expectations pretty low for Aussie derbies. I was pretty impressed with young Kyle Godwin, though I wonder whether he will be better off at 10 (as Christie was pretty average).

I thought Christie kicked poorly, and lost the ball in contact a couple of times, but generally got the Force good go forward. It might be worthwhile switching him and Godwin around. At least Christie didn't kick the ball away twice in the last five minutes to ruin any chance the Force had... Stupid Saffers!

I agree Christie was ok, I just don't think (based on his career at Waikato) he is ever going to be much better than 'ok' at Super rugby level. In contrast I thought Godwin showed some real potential, and I think the Force should be trying to develop him as a 10 they can build their franchise around. Switching Christie and Godwin around would be a good idea - I have always thought Christie is better at 12 rather than 10 in any case (I don't rate his ability to control the game). As you say Ebersohn certainly didn't help his cause in his brief cameo!

Sounds like the perfect player for the Force, no?

;)

It wasn't, actually.
He shaved his head for charity, the monstrosity beforehand was just his normal hair - he's had it like that for a while now.
