Very pleased to see George Smith there - eventually he has to make his way in the starting lineup, likely at blindside. He's still only 32 years old (same as McCaw), so I'd like to see him have a blinder and rejoin the Wallabies after his Japan contract is up (providing he still wants to). Personally I'd be tempted to move Kimlin to lock to accomidate Smith.

A strong looking Brumbies side - I'm sure we will see Smith in the starting XV next weekend (as I understand he has only been with the side for less than a week). I actually think he is more likely to slot into number 8 rather than 6. He is very creative with ball in hand and has an excellent skill-set - both important attributes for an 8. Mowen is a better 6 than an 8 too, so he will be a good fit in the Brumbies side at 8. I think he is a potential 8 for the Wallabies too, as I'm sure Wycliff Palu will be injured by the time the Lions arrive....

Waratahs
:
15. Ben Volavola , 14. Israel Folau , 13. Adam Ashley-Cooper , 12. Tom Carter , 11. Drew Mitchell , 10. Bernard Foley , 9. Brendan McKibbin , 8. Dave Dennis (c) , 7. Michael Hooper , 6. Mitchell Chapman , 5. Kane Douglas , 4. Sitaleki Timani , 3. Sekope Kepu , 2. Tatafu Polota-Nau , 1. Benn Robinson
Replacements: 16. Luke Holmes , 17. Paddy Ryan , 18. Greg Peterson , 19. Lopeti Timani , 20. Pat McCutcheon , 21. Matt Lucas , 22. Lachie Turner

A few changes for the Waratahs. Palu is out injured (no surprise there....), causing a rearrangement in the forward pack (Timani comes in at lock, Chapman moves to 6, Mowen moves to 8). Meanwhile Ben Volavola gets his first start for the Waratahs after making a big impact of the bench in recent weeks, with Folau shifting to the wing (and Kingston dropping out altogether).

Looking forward to this, Volavola and Folau look like they could become a pretty tasty attacking combo...

Yes me too. I think the Brumbies will have the edge, but I'm quite happy to have Vola at 15 and shift Folau to the wing.

Good win for the Brumbies, happy to see them take the four try bonus point but their discipline was quite poor. Good to see George Smith back, but let's hope Pocock's injury won't completely rule him out of the season.
