This match was something else. We started off pretty damn good, but failed to put points on the board. The Reds get 1 penalty going their way and immediately score a try. I was gutted when it happened and afterwards Riaan Viljoen messed up the kick-off giving the Reds a scrum at half-way. It was the perfect start for the Reds, but when Sykes went off, it was a blessing in disguise for the Sharks. Jandre (Jan-Andre) Marais came on, scoring a try and giving us the edge in the line-outs. When Sykes was on, we lost our line-outs, but Marais brought the spark we needed. I cannot wait for Hargreaves to return!
Marais' try was the turning point. Mvovo's try was disallowed because of a shoulder-charge which was a very dodgy call, but Ioane going off with a yellow gave us the momentum.
In the second half, we didn't get into any trouble, aside from the Frisby try, and only conceded 5 points in total!
The good: Lambie, Marais, Bosman, Viljoen (despite his awful kick-off) and Ndungane
The bad: Daniel, Bismarck (giving away too many penalties) and again Daniel
