Suggestions/ideas for Rugby 2012

Rugby 2012

i would mainly like to see online play introduced and also keep the same play of the ea games and not games like world championship rugby, could introduce the following.

rugby sevens.... bet no1 thought of that so you can choose between seven players and 15 would be good.

Mate... 500 people before you have said that.

Regarding online, I agree with you. It would be a great feature.

Are all these features at risk of making the game we want to be so realistic, a bit "arcadey"?

I would like to see Assistant Referees being visible and having an important role during matches

I reckon there should be at least 2 legendary players for each of the top 10 rugby teams available to unlock via winning tournaments or Challenge mode, here are a few suggestions:

New Zealand: Jonah Lomu and Tana Umaga (recently retired)
South Africa: Francois Pienaar and Percy Montgomery (recently retired)
Australia: John Eales and David Campese
France: Philippe Sella and Christophe Lamaison
Ireland: John Willie McBride and Keith Wood
England: Martin Johnson and Rory Underwood
Scotland: Gordon Brown and Gavin Hastings
Argentina: Augustin Pichot and Hugo Porta
Wales: Neil Jenkins and Gareth Edwards
British and Irish Lions: Tony O'Reilly, J.P.R Williams and many others to chose from

I agree with the above idea rather than having unlockable Video Clips or Features such as Slow Motion etc

Nothing wrong with fantasy teams to go along with current ones. NBA 2k10 has classic teams and even a team of the people who made it, yet you wouldn't call the game arcadey, because it doesn't play that way.

There needs to be a 'be a pro' feature like fifa, that would be awesome!

- improve the on-game kicks
-improve the type of passes, the posibility of crossing players.
- i know it might sound not as something that important, but 7's mode shoud be included

I just saw the new Creation systems in Fifa 11:
*Create A Player down 2 the last detail
*Create A Team incl. Stadium, Uniform ect.
*Create A Team Player(dunno what this is)

Thatd be awesome in Rugby 2012 think about it

I believe there should also be a better manager mode like the one on FIFA that lets you controll an actual club
There should also be a Be a Pro mode, like on FIFA
and there has to be online
then, i believe, involving all of the other idea's, this should be an amazing game...

oh and it would be better if there wasn't a four year gap between games....

please make the game more chalenging then 08 and change the rucks u can for example when you get tackled to have the option for holding on to the bal before placing it

The rucks are being worked on by the HB guys but I like the idea of having control of when to release the ball.. that is a great idea... you can't hold it for too long otherwise it would result in a penalty and releasing too early with no support could result in you losing posession.

And even the tackler, if you make a wrap tackle you could be able to press something to contest for the ball, and judging on timing with the tackled player results in whether you win or not.

It has been suggested plenty of times before and IMO it is a silly suggestion.
This is a Rugby game, not a Rugby Sevens game..

That's like saying, oh yeah and include a Rugby League mode...

Or should we suggest Netball?.. [ok im going overboard now]

But Im just saying, you guys should be focussing more on making the game of Rugby flow better with better features for Rugby, not Rugby Sevens

if we truly are desprate for sevens make it later as downloadable content

Sevens has become a big part of rugby, with the inclusion of sevens into the Olympics it is so hugely important to include this feature! I feel the main reason being the success it could have in a marketing sense, this weekend Portugal won the European sevens ***le beating France, of course Portugal will never win anything outside the sevens circuit in the next ten years so this feature would again help appeal to a wider audience!
We should focus on how the game is going to flow, however if you haven’t forgot sevens is just a shorter version of Rugby Union! When the game is done cutting out a few players will not be a big deal, unlike putting in a “Rugby League mode†were in FACT it is a different game all together! And not one I care for, no dark side for me thanks.

Another thing that has been brought up is that Sevens is now an olympic sport...
so what?!?!?...
Rugby isn't an olympic sport does that mean Sevens gets priority over Rugby?

And it's not just less men, HB Studios will have to change the Goal Kicking template to suit this sevens mode[if made] because in Sevens you must take a drop goal not a place kick and the scoring team kicks off..
Even though this doesn't seem like much, this could be alot of work "behind the scenes" and none of us will be happy if this causes any glitching in the game.

Another thing, Sevens is just too much of a free flow game and will get very very boring played on console.

All I can say is, this is a Rugby game, not a Rugby Sevens game.

Something came to mind whilst at training last night. In a real life situation, whenever I opt to do a cut with someone[some people call this the scissors, I don't know what else to call it so if you don't understand too bad] I always call 'cut' first whilst running on an angle and my supporting mates always know what to do and instantly do a cut[run on the opposite angle]... So with this I thought, Hey, that could be included in the game..

What if we had a button we pressed whilst in possession of the ball that made the 1st receiver instantly run on an angle and we could give the pop pass as we pleased... This would catch the other gamers off guard, as you could opt to give the pass or keep the ball and spread it...
Like in the NBA ***les, you pressed L2 I think it was and your team mates would go up for the alley oop and all you had to do was pass it to him

This, along with the quick step option from fly half would both add a more controlled effect of the game...

very good point, it might sound easy enough to trim a few players off the field but it is a completley different game. i'd rather get a great 15's game than a good 15's wit 7's included. thats just me though
