Its picked on form not what I want as a Lions team. I also meant Worsley at 7 as thats where he has played, Ferris is in the team if you didnt notice. On form Williams has been shite along with the rest of the try shy Welsh backs. Mark my words "Vickery will be a lions test player".[/b]

Can't see how Phil 'The Penalty King' Vickery can even make the starting line up. He aint good enough its simple he struggled last game for England and every game since the Autumn International. I dont see Vickery putting the monsterious tackle counts and scrummaging victories to say a true 'fatty' like Adam Jones

Oh and next thing you will be telling me Ryan Lamb and the Gloucster backs should be in contention for the Lions

Mark my words "Murray will be a lions test player".[/b]

Fixed, he was by far the standout tighthead in the NH during the Autumn, and from the looks of the Italy match he's kept going from where he left off. The difference between the Scottish scrum going backwards v France to being truly dominant v Italy says it all!

Adam Jones is then in second position, his work rate has been unbelievable, from the 'fatty' who used to rest on the side of rucks (and Henry only deemed capable of playing 30min) to being the highest Welsh tackler v France shows the amount of work he's put in.

Seriously, Vickery hasn't got a chance unless there's some rediculous Wasps bias (can't see that happening).

yeah the ridiculous Welsh bias will take care of that ;) :p

Again though, people go on about Vickery's defence, no doubt he puts in his share of tackles, but he's been missing his fair share certainly in the Six Nations, his carrying of the ball is non existent and there's serious questions now about his scrummaging.

I know you Welshies rate Henson but stop the nonsense by putting him in a Lions test side, his form has been cack since God knows how long.

Gotta agree with An Tarbh, he can't be picked for the Lions at present. If (big if) he has two great games v Italy and Ireland (if he plays v Ireland)..................... oh doesn't matter, to many if's already!

Shanklin/Roberts are favourite to partner O'Driscoll at the moment.

All Roberts does though is just charge at everyone.
Wales don't have a gameplan outside this.

But combine that with skills like O'Driscoll or even Henson posses and he can become very dangerous. Roberts does need to improve his handling skills and his vision from centre, but that's understandable considering he's only been playing in midfield since the summer.

This Lions tour may be one to early for him as first choice, but he may well go as a utility sub, being able to cover all the outside backs positions to a high standard.

I prefer 12s as an extra Playmaker see, thats why id pick Henson there.
Gatlands wanted to partner Henson/Roberts for awhile.
Be interesting to see how it does against Italy.

There are very few standouts for the home nations at present. A lot of these calls will be just based on false reputation (like Henson) or experience. If Vickery gets in for Lions, South Africa will be jizzing in their pants with excitement of the 8 kickable penalties he will give them. Each half.

This Lions Tour is going to be a whitewash. I can't see how our indisciplined brits (as in daftness) are going to out-compete a physical and generally more disciplined South Africa on any level other than penalties conceded. Daftness is the definition of making the same mistake repeatedly in a short space of time.. and we have a lot of daft players in the 6 Nations.

At the moment, Lee Byrne and perhaps Mike Blair are the standouts. Danielli is probably ahead at the moment after 2 good games, i think that says it all!

there's more standouts than that and Blair has gone from being one of them to one of the also rans at the moment. His performances have been poor so far in the Six Nations, Phillips has definitely gone ahead of him.

I do have reservations over Williams' form but form is temporary, class is permanent as the cliché goes.

Henson has about as much business as the Lions 2nd 5 as Vickery does at tighthead - The meeja know them so they will pull in more money. And that's a;; they'll do. Murray and Shanklin get my votes for their respective positions.

Nice to see AWJ in there.

why wouldn't he be, never not been impressed by him and given that O'Callaghan has discipline issues that gives Wyn Jones another edge.
