Well if i was South African i wouldn't be complaining about having to chose between Fourie and Ruan. I would pick Fourie at 9 and have Ruan on the bench where he can cover for 9, 10, 11 and 15. Both class players but Fourie is a better scrum half and Ruan has the curse of versatility.

And, as people have already mentioned...Ruan is useful on the bench because he can slot in anywhere.

It has to be de Preez as for Ruan we will have to see if he can shine 2 years in a row.

Usually South African stars have an promising rookie season great main season then flops the next year. I don't know if it is the presure or big heads but it seems to be a curse in SA rubgy.

What I am trying to say here is it is to early to compare a possible (Ruan) to somone that has proven himself for many years running.
