Selby thoroughly deserved the win in the end; he just did not let Ronnie play his break building flowing game. I think he only scored one century break in the whole match, but his attritional style of play, whilst not pretty on the eye, was so effective. I thought Ronnie lost his patience during the safety exchanges and in the end he cracked more often than Selby; which was the key to the match.

BBC commentary said that Ronnie called Selby the "Torturer" in his Autobiography. After the final, I can see why.
