Sharks vs British & Irish Lions

tbh it's more that the Lions tour doesn't interest me this year.
This, the tests don't bother me yet - the prelims against team denuded of their best players, and with both teams ravaged by covid... There's just nothing to hold my interest.
The kids though, it's an actual competitive match, not an opposed training session.

Another really impressive cameo from Hamish Watson I thought. Curry had an OK game, couple of great turnovers on his own line, but was maybe a little quiet in other facets of the game for his standards. First run out though, so should improve.

Adams was probably the standout again. Other than that forward pass, he did almost everything well, although under little pressure. Loved his assist for LRZ try.

Daly was good at 13 too.

Always felt LCD was one tackle away from a yellow, some suspect wrapping in some of the chop tackles. He's an able ball carrier though, very lively.

Let's hope Vunipola is nowhere near the test 23 if they go ahead!

Hopefully this has put to bed the idiots (yes I know strong word) who have advocated for Mako and him reclaiming his form.

Let's play him at 8 until he can scrummage.

LCD and Fagerson are probably itching to play with Sutherland or Wyn Jones. Sutherland's counter rucking was quality today and he showed some gas with that rampaging run late on.

Agree on the LCD chat. He's played his way into starting for me.

I didn't think Mako was that bad but unlike LCD he's not doing enough.

Well the SA Currie Cup sides are certainly doing a good job of lulling the B&I Lions in a sense of security. The word "lull" implying it being a false sense of security but the further the plot develops with this tour the more I think we are going to have to work on our catch up strategies.

Mako gets a a lot of stick for his scrummaging but who was pushing behind him?

Makos legs was sliding out underneath him. I Dont think it was a pushing problem.

Thought Beard has a good game. Would love it if AWJ made it back and started alongside Beard in the first test. The meltdown would be glorious.

Lol Beard was nothing remotely special and no way deserves to start. Henderson is nailed on to start with Itoje at this rate. He's been an absolute work beast.

What is starting to become obvious to me is that Gatland isn't that involved in the coaching. Sharp passing, offloads galore - the complete opposite of Warrenball. Townsend and Tandy making their mark.

I didn't say he was special but I did think he had a good game. Defended the maul well, made a lot of tackles, nice rip early on with a nice offload immediately after. But yeah, Henderson and Itoje for me but that performance by Beard was better than anything I've seen from Hill.

Beard was solid, nothing special, but a decent spring in the lineout

Albeit poor opposition, but I think back 3 I really wanna see Watson before judging anything, however Adams has looked good (some would be scored by a nanny on a zimmer, but some quality finishes too)
Centres, I Really wanna se what a Biggar/Henshaw/Daly might be like, idk but Daly has looked like he's a natural Outside centre oddly enough, and although you can say about weak opposition I'm impressed with his decision making most of all

LCD as well looked good, Henderson and Itoje I really liked when they were together. Itoje looked strong in the Mauls and Hendy is such a brute of a man

Curry played well too, not involved in the carrying side as much as I'd have liked (Impact wise too) but great work at the breakdown. What I want to see is how he functions as a lineout jumper, to see if he can genuinely be the 6 with Watson 7 (I live in hope)

What I want to see is how he functions as a lineout jumper,
He's a good option, without being a specialist
There was a lot of talk pre-world cup how he's not a lineout option, then he went on to be one of England (and Sales) main targets afterwards

As with most back row lineout jumpers that arent second rows masquerading then
