How totally disrespectful of Sky Sports to cut from the welcome ceremony for adverts. Shame on the producer and the staff. Plus I am watching live and coverage is cutting out with the teams on the pitch with black screen and just audio. Turn your shameful actions around as you are milking my subscription for this.

Is anyone else having the same problem?

I was rather relieved. All that "welcome to country" stuff is rubbish.

anyone that has a problem with people basically saying "we're cool, lets all be friends, wecome to the family"...are just misrable ***** looking for something to be upset about
Exactly. Too many people thinking it’s welcome to Australia when it’s a welcome to the local area.

Well done those for judging people with different opinions than their own.

Personally I find that stuff boring, others like it, some love it. Doesn’t really matter as we are all different.

People might not care for it, but it's a gesture of welcome and goodwill, and there's little enough of that these days so the misery guts should get called out for *****ing about it. You want to watch a Mercedes advert instead?

No I wouldn’t watch either, I’d be getting snacks, opening another cider and probably talking to someone.

Personally I’ve always loved learning about different cultures when I’ve travelled and I’m a bit of a history buff but each to their own I guess. Not trying to be judgmental but it’s a pretty divisive issue here and one that some people don’t want to bother to understand. To put it simply, when someone arrives at your home do you welcome them when they get there or just ignore them? That’s literally all it is

Meh, if someone is publicly pronouncing their judgement ("All that ... is rubbish"); then I think it's fair to publicly judge them ("is miserable")
It's not like either is the height of insult.

Personally, I tend not to watch these things as I don't bother with any of the build up (I used to, but as a long-time fan, and forum user, my own analysis, and that of most posters, goes beyond what is shown on telly) - if I time it right, I arrive at the last note of the last anthem.
But I'm not going to say that the "welcome" stuff is rubbish; or that singing anthems is rubbish (though insisting on having multiples, or getting overly precious about your dance is a bit rubbish - and, of course, GSTK is a rubbish anthem).
I'm also not going to approve of TV cutting away from any of that - because if I want to cut away, I can always use the remote control, or just leave the room and put the kettle on.

My only issue with sky is the number of adverts. The last 15mins leading up to the game is about half adverts half coverage
