BT Sport's coverage

Quite enjoyed BT's coverage of the first Premiership game, but they really shouldn't let Dallaglio anywhere near a commentator's mic.

Quote of the night - "It looks like Eastmond has hurt his knee."

Thanks Lawrence. Sparkling insight telling us all that a man laying on the floor clutching his knee might have hurt his knee. Whatever they're paying him is too much.

I, too, enjoyed their coverage. Pre-game was actually interesting rather than just wheeling out old cliches, and their interviews mid-game were decent too (though I never really like it when they interview players walking off at halftime because they're always shattered!).
Like I said in another thread, I can't wait to see Cockerill and/or Diamon interviewed mid-game

It was ESPN (with Dallaglio in exchange for Ben Kay) coverage of the AP and I preferred their host (Judith Chalmers' son) than the Irish guy; and certainly do not want Dallaglio spouting his rubbish every week!!

As you say the coverage is basically a modified version of ESPN's.
Much better than the "Rugby Tonight" program.
It just shows you how poor some of he people they have brought in to do coverage are, when someone like Flats is involved.
He was far more interesting and insightful than either Dawson or Dayglo.

Theyre taking a kicking here.

Bath v Leicester, one of the biggest club games in the world and BT have zero build up, scroll football results at the top of the screen and then talk about football at half time instead of going to the ground to get analysis.

Twitter is not happy

Any sports channel hosted by Dawson has to be and is ****!! Glad I am not paying....................

Yeah, I turned on at two o'clock yesterday only to hear "we'll be going to the Rec for kick off... after 15 minutes of football - but we'll be back at half time for 15 minutes of football!".

Atrocious.

They have a lot of work to do - first port of call is firing Matt Dawson.

I am watching BT Sport 2 for the Toulouse/Castres game and, hoping it is not a one off, they have put the excellent Martin Bayfield on instead of that Jill person so we now have an articulate and knowledgeable presenter! Unfortunately, we still have the very poor Tom May who is hardly articulate and certainly not knowledgeable about, in particular, French rugby eg......."Biarritz, with the strength of their squad, will move up the table"!!!

The power of the TRF!!

Today's match at Oyonnax is an absolute pleasure with the excellent Martin Gillingham (who knows more about French rugby than most anyone else in the UK)and the inestimable Nick Kennedy who brings knowledge, incisiveness and enthusiasm with a TV friendly voice. Support that with the pretty Welsh girl, who shows that she knows about rugby, as presenter and they have a great team and is much more enjoyable, for me, than the one they use for the UK Premiership!

Well done BT!!

I think the standard of coverage is fantastic, apart from the odd break in picture of course. Just watching the match today at Oyannax and I can only echo what has been said above. Nick Kennedy proving to be particularly knowledgable and articulate, whilst the same applies to Gillingham. The Welsh girl in the studio certainly doesn't lack enthusiasm and again, seems to have a good knowledge of the game.

Could do with working on her tackling technique however if the midweek show 'Rugby Tonight' is anything to go by. :)
