Thanks

I must admit, I blushed when I saw that front row. Hopefully Italy's 6 first choice props, on both sides, are going to be rested for this game :D

Seems as though AR has done a good mix of players whom are Definites, maybes, long shots and no hopers in these two internationals.

Get intae them!

Italian side added

Strong side - looking forward to seeing how the new Sale signings get on (Vernon and Dickinson) considering they're both up against two of the best players going in their respective positions (I expect Dickinson to get munched)

Indeed

I assume this is very close to the strongest side Italy can put out?

As for Dickinson, the only debate is whether he is going to be Mr. Castrogiovanni's starter, dessert or side of onion rings.

Where are all the Italian posters? There is the one guy who has a man-crush on James O' Connor, and at least one other semi-regular poster?

Nae thoughts on this game?

They are scared of Richie Gray as an Impact player.... 20 minutes of pure awesome.

Three last minute changes for Italy; Ongaro replaces Ghiraldini (who has picked up an injury) at nr 2. Furno and Gori replace Canavosio and Pratichetti who have both been ruled out by the physios.

Seems like a solid Italian side. Why isn't Mauro included in the team? It has been ages since the two brothers played together for Italy. And he had a decent game last week.

I would've expected a little more action in here as well :p

Three late replacements will disrupt Italy a little

I'm really curious to see who wins this - Scotland looked fairly solid against Ireland, but (up until the 79th minute or whenever) just couldn't find the tryline
Apparently Italy weren't too great against Japan, though this is a much changed side

Then again, Scotlands side is pretty much a whole new XV, so it's basically the start of the test series for the two sides again

Something to consider in the backs, is that with players like Evans, Lamont R, Danielli and Blair, this backline could be as strong, if not stronger than the one that faced Ireland.

The tight-five, apart from Kellock and Hines in certain games (Georgia and Argentina spring to mind), is without a doubt the second choice one. The back-row is pretty much first choice as well. Whilst it will be a case of damage control on the scrums, we should still have some form of parity in the line-outs.

Can anyone see a similarity between Nathan Hines for Scotland, and Danie Russouw for SA? Both are far too slow to be effective loosies at this point in their careers, but their respective coaches still seem them as options there.

Last week the back line of Italy was imo rather weak, this is similar to their 6 N squad. So very high expectations.
Scotland played very defensive last week but Italy can push things to a higher level.

You're forgetting that was pretty near to a full strength Scotland side while a third string Irish side. Is this being televised?

Hurting much ;)

As I said a few posts above, it will be interesting to see what our first choice backline is like for the world cup, as (depending on which side of the Parks coin you are on) these line-ups are fairly equal in strength, so there is no need to make sweeping statements to cover up your misery, with your third *cough* Sexton *cough* string side losing ;)

Gutted that, once again, Supersport is not showing this , 'every major rugby event on the planet live' my erse, hoping for... alternative means.

Sorry forgot one player makes it a first string side.;)

So this isn't being televised is it.
