[RWC2023] New Zealand vs Italy (29/09/2023)

That is full strength (in fozzies mind) more or less, if they click and we win comfortably then it all back on…if they scrape home or lose then I won't be holding much hope1695811989137.jpeg

So, cane starting from the bench, he's only been out for three games so I can't imagine he needs to be eased in too much…so I imagine he's still not 100%….and if he's not 100% I'd rather give Blackadder a run

Cane's not the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I do feel a bit sorry for him. A good career, the majority of which has basically been spent taking a kicking for the heinous crime of not being McCaw.

ABs to win at a reasonable canter and be largely back in the mix.

Not to mention the physical kicking he's taken. The man literally came back from breaking his neck.

Anyone thinking Italy might win this match is living in denial.
0, 0, 4, 1 < Italy's points in 6 nations with 1 point win against Wales in 2022 with a last min try and conversion.

Lets just say they haven't been threatening enough at the bottom end of the 6 Nations to get W's. They aren't suddenly going to unleash an historic victory.

So in how many days do you start telling kids Santa isn't real?

Italy XV: Tommaso Allan; Ange Capuozzo, Juan Ignacio Brex, Luca Morisi, Montanna Ioane; Paolo Garbisi, Stephen Varney; Danilo Fischetti, Giacomo Nicotera, Marco Riccioni, Dino Lamb, Federico Ruzza, Sebastian Negri, Michele Lamaro, Lorenzo Cannone

Replacements: Hame Faiva, Ivan Nemer, Simone Ferrari, Niccolo Cannone, Manuel Zuliani, Toa Halafihi, Martin Page-Relo, Paolo Odogwu

Italy will pose little to no threat with Allan at 15 and Capouzzu on the wing. Its clearly not been working over the past two months.

NZ 38-6 Italy

EDIT: I'd have benched Garbisi.

Just before he tells people Scotland won't win either and after Wales and England aren't improving quickly enough to challenge.
Scotland are the only team I'd consider giving an upset now at this stage unless someone spoils Fiji's fun.

England are improving?
