[RWC2019][Pool A] Round 2 - Japan vs. Ireland (28/09/2019)

If something is going to lose RWC a World Cup it is Best's throwing in at the lineout.

At the very least this will stop pundits creaming themselves over our '100%' lineout. Porter literally had to catch one last week.

Those ones annoy me, he's illegal but releases the second he's told to. If you're going to give it anyway just give it.

Take a bow Jap scrum!

Edit... but always keep your eye on the opponent... even when you bow!

What a scrum from Japan. Be interesting to see if it was legal.

I think it's a bit more complicated. I think the ref also how much it slows the ball down and affects the attack. Sometimes the team still has opportunities, other times there is not much advantage to let them keep playing.

Em excuse me what?

Even the Japanese forwards were surprised by that decision.

That location looks bad. What is there other than ribs? Cracked or broken potentially.
Could be muscle, if you pull/tear one there it can really mess you up. Surprisingly hurt more than some of the other injuries I've had.

We're going to be talking about the quality of the ref after this one too.

That's a really poor restart. Mostly a good first half from Carty though.

Scrum is another area that needs to be referred more consistently. I'd like to see referees telling players to use it quicker when the ball is at the back and the scrum is stable instead of trying to milk a penalty.
