[RWC19 Warm-Up] - Wales vs. Ireland

Personally thought Steff was the best Welsh back 3 player. Didn't get much opportunity, but always looked threatening, worked hard, competed well in the air, and tackled well. Lane finished his try well, and almost broke free a few times, whilst amos threatened as well.

Playing behind a beaten pack is always a struggle, so tough to fully judge.

Yeah, he also had a solid game. I wonder whether Amos and Lane May have more of a shout as they cover more than one position and had a bit of form at the end of the season, where as Steff is more of an out and out winger? In saying that Lane hasn't played Centre for a while so may not apply to him.

Wales were appalling for 60min. Couldn't go 30sec without an error. Incredibly frustrating to watch. Ireland applied pressure, sure, but I generally thought the Welsh players were more to blame. Navidi made 2 bad defensive errors in the lead up to Stockdale's first try, very rare you see that. Wtf was Shingler doing with that offload for Stocker's second?

Gat's biggest mistake today? Putting any faith in Leon Brown. The guy get's munched in the scrum on a consistent basis, he was never in contention for the WC, better off giving Dillon Lewis another game. He probably cost us the game, even if some of the calls were a little unfair.

Patchell cemented his place on the plane. He was magnificent after coming on, both in attack and defense. I like Jarrod, but he went into his shell unfortunately, Patch came on and bossed the game. Tomos Williams maybe showed why he could be our best option at 9 as well.

Couldn't agree more about Patchell. He completely changed the game and made a huge impact after coming on. Wales probably would have won had he been on from the start. I would have him as your starting 10 at the RWC. Big fan of his.

Let just make Ryan captain now, just re-watched the game and he basically already is, he was ordering POM around today, he set the physicality and linespeed standard and we basically fell apart when he left the field.

I've never agreed with so many changes, I realise there was a need to see certain players but, gats must know who is going on the plane, I liked lanes try took it well as he still had a lot to do, I agree with most of whats been said. The front five never turned up, until there was changes in the second half which allowed our backs to do a bit more, the same old story the forwards decide who wins the backs by how many.

If he isn't made captain after the World Cup I'll very umimpressed. Sadly I can see us being i the exact same situation we are now with Best except with POM in 2023 (although in this case the sheer quality of the alternatives will hopefully see him forced out). As you say it was clear who was in charge today, and it wasn't Peter O'Mahony.

Ringrose has been poor since he came on. Very much at fault there.
Yes Ringrose was very poor but he has been highly overrated. The game is too physical for him. Ringrose is always injured he is too small for a modern centre i put him as 4th choice for ireland.

Well on today.
Kilcoyne has cemented his spot and Porter has showed he can do both sides of scrum.
In Peter O'Mahony we have another 7 and well it may turn out he plays more rugby there than 6.
Carty has really blown Ross Byrne out of the park.

Best hasn't been awful but there is still a vulnerability feel with him now.
Conway and Addison have both done well and unless Aki does not travel and both of them do I feel that is the last live competition for a spot

I think Kilcoyne is a starter now. Scannell should start the next game if he goes well he should be first choice. Jack Conan isnt up to this Level CJ nailed on 8. Toner looks past it. Aki is Irelands best 12 and farrell outside looks like a great partnership. Addison starts the next game he is one good game away from being first choice 15. Marmion looks like our best 9. Carty and carbury look like the two best 10s in ireland at the moment.

Ryan only made 7 tackles 2 less then toner. Ryan also had 1 Turnover Conceded, made just 2 passes and ran with the ball 3 times making 2 meters. Henderson made 16 tackles

Your point?

Actually you're the guy who thinks Ringrose is Ireland's 4th choice centre so never mind.

Yes a lucky 4th he is too small for the modern game always injured. Highly overrated by the ex leinster players and south dublin media mafia. Irish rugbys number 1 issue is the bias shown by leinster pundits and journalists towards south dublin players.

He also forgot that Tadhg Furlong should clearly lose out to John Ryan. Smh

Crazy you want to drop the only world class irish player. Furlong is a different breed from the softies in south dublin hes the real deal unlike conan, ringrose, ross byrne

Garry Ringrose: 95kg, 187 cm
Noel Reid: 92 kg, 185 cm

Do you seriously expect me to believe that Garry Ringrose is too small to be a centre when he's actually bigger than the undisputed GOAT?

Ireland need to move on from mentally and physically weak dublin southsiders if they want to become winners
