RWC: Wales - Fiji (02-10-2011, 18:00)

Barnes has done himself no favours this tournament. Suffering a huge loss of form. Should be sent for a long spell of club rugby before any more international work

We're doing okay. Still the same issue of too many silly, unforced errors. North has been very good so has Warburton and as I type they link for another try

Tsk tsk tsk, Fiji being a shadow of what they should be.

However Wales are playing pretty well.

Warburton try, soon to be 31-0

HT

Barnes is an idiot (as NZers have been saying for 4 years :)). Is there any possibility of Craig Joubert reffing every game from here on in? He is by far the most level headed, consistent ref.

Joubert has been poor this tournament, his best game yet was yesterday against England and Scotland?

Yeah he missed some blatant forward passes, he also saw a high tackle on Warburton, raised his whistle towards his mouth then lowered it, scratched his head and continued.

anyone else see 'BE PREPARED TO SUFFER' sign in Wales changing room? Did some cruel kiwi organisers put that up there or was it Gatland giving a warning to fans?

I haven't even been watching this game, i already knew from the team fiji named they were going to get their asses kicked, doesn't make any sense, this is an embarrassment

Not only was it a destruction but it was a nil-er to go with it. That's going to make Shaun Edwards a very happy baldy.

Not a good RWC for Fiji at all possibly the most dissapointing of any team. They are better than this.

Good work from Wales in what was ment to be a tough group. Scoring more points than the Boks as well, not bad. Running rugby and showing the other six nations teams how to support the ball carrier. Hate to say it Wales are playing the kind of rugby I wish England did at the moment, they are far more easier on the eye.

Barnes allowed the game to flow instead of giving the penalty. One of the few things he attempted to do well.

Urm no ... nothing to do with the Kiwi's, all down to the Welsh coaching staff. Wales were expecting a physical battle and thats what the message is highlighting.

Well, what a great performance from the entire Welsh matchday squad there. Not a perfect display, but soo ruthless, more like watching the AB's than a Welsh team in that regard! I know it wasn't Fiji's first team, but you can only play what's in front of you, and to a man that was a solid display. Doesn't appear that we picked up any serious injuries erither, Gethin Jenkins probably the biggest scare, but it looks possible that we'll have a fully fit squad to choose from for the QF. Happy days.

Bring on Ireland!

Well I didn't expect that kind of score at all!! Very ruthless performance by the boys, highlighted by the push to get the try after 80 mins. Showed we can create tries, and also showed solid defensive work as well (Edwards will be a very happy man). Barnes missed a fair few forward passes (2 coming from one of our tries) - allows the game to flow a bit more but still "against the rules". Centers seemed to work well together, very interesting to see what the paring will look like when Hook returns. Same can be said regarding back 3 (even if Byrne is still not at his best - getting better though). Will Shane automatically jump straight back in, if so at who's expense?? North is getting better and better every game, and Halfpenny is running some amazing support lines. Subs played a big part again this week, big impact from Lloyd Williams :D Bit of work to do for Ireland match (if things go to plan with them). Is it wrong of me to be slightly confident for that match??? Psychologically Wales won't have a mental block against any Northern Hemisphere side, we all beat eachother, so surely they'll be high on confidence coming out of group match, and licking their lips at the prospect of Ireland followed by England/France??? One step at a time though :D I for one, cannot wait for the quarters :D :D
