RWC Pool D World XV

Ooops my mistake Jones, Williams, Thomas it all becomes a blur for me. I stand corrected.

Yes, I think in hindsight Eliota may have been utilised better in RWC. He is trully a world class player.

I actually perfer Frans Steyn ahead of Roberts at 12... Not as good lines but just as strong and is more of a play-maker and a bonus kicking option. Slightly better in defense as well IMO. Guess it all depends what you are looking for. Pity he didn't play at 12 against Wales and got injured when we needed him most.

Also, Danie Rossouw is helluva unlucky not to get into your XV. He was cover for Matfield as well (as Bakkies/Muller) and shone! If we are looking at pool games I'd have him ahead of Matfield as Matfield's best game was against Aus in the QF even though we lost (Ironically the one game Rossouw had a nightmare).

I also can't see how you can omit Faletau and Schalk Burger from the backrow. Samoa also had a few good games but I wouldn't be able to comment a I didn't see all.

Francois Hougaard's exclusion I can understand as he played across a couple of positions and did so off the bench for the most part. While I can understand the reasoning of selecting priestland ahead of Morne Steyn I feel saying Steyn did nothing is very unfair as the numbers suggest that he scored more points in that he was more accurate with the boot, scored more tries and created more scoring opportunities. His defense let him down to an extent but mostly that was due to being singled out and I'm sure most players wouldn't do TOO much better if targeted in this way.
