RWC: Ireland - United States (11-09-2011, 18:00)

Chris Wyles come back and D'Arcy injury can very well shortened the margin. Ireland is a specialist in choking at RWC, they only escape an historic defeat against Georgia because of a stupid referee.

Someone's losing streak is bound to end here, and all my points went on the more likely side.

He was never going anyway him and DK has disagreements i believe.

Hes not from Munster.

Neither is: Isaac Boss, Tommy Bowe , Gordon D’Arcy, Rob Kearney, Fergus McFadden, Geordan Murphy, Brian O’Driscoll, Paddy Wallace, Rory Best, Tom Court, Stephen Ferris, Cian Healy...etc.

Who would you have left behind from the back threes selected in favour of Horgan?

No, they just were not good enough and were overtrained and under prepared. The coach Eddie O'Sullivan admitted that they made a balls of the preparation. Ireland also needed a last minute try to beat Italy in one of the warm up games before the 07 world cup and Italy themselves were poor in the 07 world cup. Also having a top ranked team AND Argentina in our groups in the last 3 world cups didn't help.

Ireland won't do anything at this WC because they just don't have any margin of collective improvement. Some teams like New Zealand, Ireland, or Scotland who are unable to enlarge their player pool because of nationalist consideration have no margin of improvement, that's why, like in 2007, the "open" nations who benefits from overseas players and two months training together will rule the 2011 edition.
At every World Cup (when it matters), Ireland regain his normal level around the 10th nation in the world. By the way, they are lucky to have a weak pool without Pacific Nations or Georgia.

Irelands player pool is alot bigger these days because the provinces have bigger squads with more quality. Ireland will bring their strongest ever squad to the 2015 world cup, even taking into account the loss of BOD, ROG and POC etc.

If you think Ireland are about the 10th best team in the world then fair enough, you're entitled to your opinion.

How will France do in this world cup?

Chris Wyles is not God. D'arcy has been very poor recently McFadden is better.

Yes you're right with only four teams we should let more foreignors in to increase our national pool. Great logic. Ireland have been training together for 2 months and have training camps through out the year. Ireland in standard are much higher than 10th. Also we're incredibly lucky to have Italy ahead of say Tonga or Georgia. They're shocking I mean they could never beat France or anything.

Obviously preperations could've been better and Kidney didn't plan it like this but it is perfect preperation,

Nobody thinks we are good enough and Kidney is the best coach in world at mental games and will put these players minds in a us against the world mentality and nobody likes us etc.

10th in the world? i know we arent on form at the moment...but don't make us laugh. On our day we are at least 5th (Behind the tri-nations and france), on a bad day we'd be 7th, with Wales and England overtaking us.

Why does everyone rate France the Northern Hemispheres top team?

France are probably the best in the NH at the moment, but England have a great record against France, you play 3 games in Dunedin without moving (making it a home base technically) and it's a comparatively weaker group IMO, so you should have less injuries / tired players for the knockout stages. The bookies are not stupid and know this full well.. Also, you have Wilkinson! - the next entrant into the international and IRB hall of fame if he has another great tournament - no question.

But not because that French poster says so - I'll take Ireland as the #6 team in the world (as the bookies reckon - who are knowledgable in Maths and rugby) ahead of some random French poster who doesn't know what he's talking about.

Anyway, everyone knows Tonga and NZ are gonna beat the French, and send'em home crying like little girls. :)
