Development hell implies something that can't quite get into development, but this is apparently finished, and has been since November last year. Whatever the **** is happening is bizarre, but it reflects very poorly on TruBlu

I speculate that the delay is something to do with licensing. I think they are trying to secure a license or figuring out a way to remove a license from the game.

Well at this point, Aviva premiership will be grossly outdated kit and roster wise unless they are making updates. Secondly Super Rugby will need UAR licensing. However I feel this won't be done, I would really like Jaguares and Sunwolves along with Pumas and Japan. We'll see I guess I am not a pc gamer so unless ps4 gets mods via usb then I'm all for more licensing

At this stage I'm starting to wonder if there will be a game at all. I would have thought if it was anywhere near ready they would have looked at a Six Nations launch but we'll be lucky to make Rugby Championship now. We may have to go back to modding RC2 yet.

They won't look at the 6 Nations launch because the game is being aimed at an Aus/NZ/SA Market, not the european market. Super Rugby, or Rugby Championship would be their targets.... if they have any targets.

The game won't be any good anyway. None of the rugby games are really, it will have that wrong players, stats, kits and you won't be able to move players again probably.

I don't know why these company's waste their time producing such rubbish.

How I wished this was true. But when I looked at the video I noticed that the gameplay is from Rugby Challenge 2 and NOT Rugby Challenge 3. Bulls & Stormers are unlicensed. (Pretoria & Cape Town)

that's what I thought too, i noticed they were playing ps3 as well and figured if they were playing rc3 they'd be going next gen

Maybe the Jaguares or Sunwolves are playing hardball with their licenses, or Microsoft/Sony discovered problems in all versions of the game and forced Wicked Witch/TruBlu to rewrite code, etc. This would be a reason for silence.

I emailed WW out of curiosity and they responded with the following:

Rugby Challenge 3 is still being finalized and is looking good! Tru Blu would love to release the game but unfortunately the last submission issues have taken us longer to fix than anticipated. I am sure once we are through this they will move quickly to bring it to market. Thanks for your interest in the Rugby Challenge series, it's great to hear of your community event! We are eager for the tradition to continue! Stay tuned for more information on Rugby Challenge 3.

I'm actually fairly happy that it's a developer-fix delay. This holds promise for me that a) it will be released, and b) will be more bug free than the initial RC2 release. Still, whatever the reasons, the silence from Tru Blu is still extremely poor from a publisher - after all it's them who set the release date, and they should be feeding back any changes to it.
