Rugby '15 announced

I found an article which said it was the LNR who instigated the creation of the game I'll post the link when i get on my laptop later.

I know you'd be just speculating, but do you guys think the gameplay will be very similar to RWC 2011?

I picked up a pre-owned copy from Game today just to have another bash as I traded mine in about 2 years ago (and partly to give South Africa a hammering before we play them tomorrow!)

I forgot how bad it is :/ features aside - just the gameplay is so arcadey. I remember you used to be able to have some really epic matches on Rugby 08 and play quite tactfully but this just feels rubbish. How do you guys find it?

Oh and I asked the guy at Game about E3 and Rugby 15 and of course he knew nothing. He got out a big folder with upcoming releases but no mention in there either.

Apologies for the negativity.. I've just got to that point again now where you start checking for news every 15 minutes but playing that again has made me feel a bit more pessimistic now :(

Lion, that video was massively fake, it was RC2 images.
Satan, can you check that french video posted above and translate if they say anything we might be interested in?

jmmontoro, the only information is that the game would be preview by professionals.

He said (1.30 to 2.15) that bigben and hb studios want to do a game realistic but with a gameplay simple ! (it's impossible for me).

The journalist seems don't know rugby.

No online at all........

I actually think this isnt a bad thing. The servers are always rubbish anyway. Good that they are concentrating on game play. Need to play the demo

Online never really interested me tbh, I think it was probably because Sidhe made a cock up of it in the RC Series, there was zero matchmaking, it was easy enough to beat anyone as the All Blacks, especially if you are wanting to play as Ulster!

Right here we go guys!

This is a google translation of the full article. It would be great if any of our French speaking members could have a read over the translation and check its accurate.

BigBen Interactive announced last April, the development of a new game of rugby at the end of the year 2014, PS4 and Xbox One but also the Xbox 360, PS3 and PS Vita, without revealing images or videos but at this E3 2014 we got to see the game for the first time in the company of the publisher. Rugby 15 is developed by HB Studio, which is already occupied the Fifa Ultimate Team Mode for EA Sports and several sports franchises, and it is the largest license from the publisher today.

The game features officially licensed leagues such as the Top 14, Pro D2 Rugby Aviva Premiership or with real team jerseys and the official names of the players. While the side sections it is similar modes official competitions such as the 6 Nations tournament, the nations of the southern hemisphere and the European Cup clubs. In addition, it is also possible to create your own leagues and cups.

The Gameplay

The demo version was on a PS4 but not advanced, we have not been able to know exactly what percentage was in development. Visually, the game does not equal a Fifa but the attention to detail is still taken into account in particular to vary the gameplay. For example, depending on the climate and time of day, it can have an impact on the game; with the rain the ground is slippery, not favoring support, direction and strength of the wind must be taken into account penalties or drops. The objective of this game of rugby is to provide accessible gameplay in the controls without neglecting the essence of the discipline. For example, when mixed and takedowns to win the ball, a mini-game is to measure the right stick on a curve and validate a trigger occurs before your opponent. The passing game does not is not as intuitive as the rule is mandatory to perform a pass and movement of his player may be offset from his teammates. This is probably due to a bad habit and control adaptation to this particular gameplay. Defensive phases are fairly simple by the fact that your teammates automatically flatten the ball carrier when it is within range. During a match, it is also possible to select offensive and defensive tactics using the directional pad as seen on most sports games. Another important point of rugby is the penalty kick. To do this, the principles of the gauge and the choice of the path will be similar to a swing in golf games taking into account the data about the wind.

The Environment

The proposed cameras are standard with traditional TV mode but it is also possible to opt for a view behind his players to get a better idea of the positions of the opponent. Visibility player is near and can see that they can get dirty as and when the meeting or see those who are tired to replace before observing injury. Regarding the sound, the crowd reacts to the actions and commentators are obviously present and in theory, the French Canal + presenters will be on hand. Regarding multiplayer, Rugby 15 is playable up to 4 local players and there will be no online mode, the studio preferring to concentrate on the basic game this year. Like Fifa, it will be possible to monitor the results of its friends and send messages.

A monitor for fans

Rugby is underrepresented in the gaming and BigBen trying to take the land on this field worldwide. It will be their largest to date license and their desire is really to provide an annual rugby game with improvements and developments over the years. For this first jet, Rugby 15 has the merit of offering the fundamentals of rugby with official licenses and should satisfy fans. Nevertheless, there is still much work to fix a large number of visual bugs and AI but we are promised the best before its release. Lovers of rugby should follow with interest the development of the game that will be available by the end of 2014 on next-gen consoles and earlier.

I wouldn't say that the loss of online play is a bad thing. They may even release a downloadable content in which the online id included. Id rather they did this than quickly finish off online and make it a absolute flop.

Fair point, but its hard to play your friends if you live in a rural area. Just hope the career mode is good enough so it makes me forget about the online

Hey guys i'm new to the forums here although i have been following along quite a lot, both on here and the sidhe forums. It was interesting to read in the translated announcement about possible southern hemisphere national licences. Do you guys think this will include Australia and New Zealand considering in RWC 2011 both Argentina and South Africa were already licensed??

While the side sections it is similar modes official competitions such as the 6 Nations tournament, the nations of the southern hemisphere and the European Cup clubs.

It's painful trying to read the google translation, it seems like they may have made some changes to the rucking , (good thing), if one of our French supporters could help us out with a better translation:). This is all we Got for now. I am not a big fan of the saying (simple gameplay). Translation for me dum downed.

cheers and salud

On the plus side, annual rugby games and official licences are what they want to do

Haha know how you feel, just finished a languages degree and Google translate is usually a nightmare

To be honest,
having no online does dampen the game for me. Even though the servers were shaky and lagging, the game still worked fine, but having no online does eliminate numerous possibilities for game modes, example ultimate team, and quie honestly, when you make videos about rugby games and subscribers want to play against myself, it is quite disappointing that I can not play with people that enjoy watching my videos. Hopefully, they still might try and integrate online into the game, or I can see the game becoming stale overtime.

yeah no online servers does sucks, everyone was looking forward for a rugby ultimate team for a while and its a disappointment that there is no online like how ?

No online is inexcusable in 2014, so the focusing on other areas is blah blah blah, massive game breaker when they're known for their dumb AI, specially when trying to appeal to non rugby gamers. Maybe, just maybe, online features haven't been implemented yet.
