Rugby 06 First Trailer!!

Trailor looks good

Offloads will be good.... the sidestep and fends still look rubbish

bring on the two rugby games cause the league game was crap

Hopefully there added alot more real player faces into the game.
and you can tell who they are when your playing.

the whole create and edit player from 2005 needs a overhaul also

but the main thing is gameplay

Doesn't look all that different from Rugby 2005.

However. This may not be a bad thing.

Rugby 2005+offloads+dangerous tackles+quick taps & lineouts+updated lineups=Rugby 2006?

I'll remain neutral. For now.

Agreed... They needed to make sure the animations had less impact on control this time around, and by the looks of that I'd say it hasn't.
We'll wait and see. I'll be very happy if I'm wrong and this is in fact a great game.

No you wont, you'll be extremly ****** off.
Hey sanzar, if this game sucks (or good) do want us to counter Los's moves and halve EA's sales?

EA's pretty big, but I think that together we can do it...

...We'll be like George Bush and his detachable metaphoric power-penis.... Completely useless oon our own, but together we will crush the puny humans with our giant, metallic erection!! [/b]
It sounds like a great idea! I'll write to EA and tell them if they f#ck up I'll do to them what Los did to sidhe and Swordfish, but worse because we have the power of 2! That'll get them shakin dammit!

Did you notice how useless the grubber still looks?
hopefully it won't make the player stop in his tracks and take 20 minutes to execute like last time... and hopefully if it is like last time the ball physics are a little more realistic. I always got a chuckle when I finally pulled off a grubber only to see it do a right angle turn on the first bounce and land near the opposite wing!

The kicking system is disgraceful

Jonah lomu rugby still has the best kicking system

Actually, that's a good point. They need to work on the ball physics a bit...

Also, the entire kicking system needs to be improved. At the moment it's crapola!

...Also, isn't Montgomery left-footed?

AAAHHHHHHH

from what i've seen so far of the video, the flyhalf is still receiving the ball standing still!!

the trailer looks pretty mad with their backline moves...offloading looks smooth...i cant wait for a rugby game

disappointing!!!!

thats what i 1st thought after seeing that trailer. Looks exactly like 05 with offloads and new jerseys and updates. still got that crap sidestep and fend, and the grubber looks like its still crap. whats the point of the grubber if the playing kicking slows down, usually you would get tackled doing this in 05, and why did larkham kick it if it only went 5 metres???? hopefully they do things a little differently for 07. as i think 06 looks the same, but only time will tell i spose. Fingers, toes, nads, and whatever else can be crossed

so you want them to change the graphics for the game?

completely change it?

they should just keep it as how it is...so what if they're adding on more stuff to an already good looking game?

they're going the right way to making the best rugby game

To be honest I probably shouldnt but im holding out a lot of hope for this one and I said that as soon as I saw Rugby 05 because it was a good building block.

If they added the offloads, stopped the animations interfering in play and improved the kicking and ball physics along with toning down the dive tackle effectiveness I think you would have a very playable game. Could do with sorting out the camera angles as well it always seemed weird to me that you would be right in opposition half, turn the ball over and it was like they were right on your line. Weird !

They do have a good basis with 05 now and I look at it like this. If it takes them a few years to get to the point were we can say " Yes thats pretty much it, we just want this adding now and it would be great if you did this " then so be it. At least EA now looks to be taking the franchise seriously and who knows maybe one day league may catch their eye again

What worried me with RL2 is that its for me most definately gone backwards. Thats gotta be pretty hard to achieve but SIDHE have managed it. Ok EA have done this in the past also from R2001 to R2004 but they took a big step with 05.

Still think this game will have to be really on its toes though to beat RC06.

I live in hope. AGAIN !!!!

yeah i agree they have made a good start, but they need to change the sidestep and fend, hopefully they will. But i did fail to commend that the graphics are great, but wud much rather have the gameplay. thought they could spend more time listening to what consumers want from a rugby game, rather then just get a game out as soon as they can

this game looks quite good at the moment but there is something small that still saddens me. The SA fields still look like they're based in semi-desert conditions. Sure Pretoria is hot but it doesn't mean there's a bloody water shortage. Newlands (Cape Town) is gonna be so arid while its grass is actually extremely luscios. I am SO dissapointed.

really good vid, odd how rc and r2006 released stuff the same day! got a funny feeling ea watch these boards after all.....
i cannot understand why they put a grubber kick in the video, it didnt gain the player any advantage and was a really bad animation! All round though, looks good

I don't mean to be negative but we can't read anything into a trailer - Ea will make this look good whatever the quality of the real game, just as an advert exaggerates the truth.

Having said this I'm confident Rugby 2006 will be a good game, for a while anyway!

yes, its good now that us as rugby fans seem to be treated to rugby game every year.
funny how the trailers released the same time as rugby challenge 2006.
