RFU Reports leaked

I think the Borthwick thing was someone who was around when Borthwick was, but not much after, so Mears or Wigglesworth

Senior players at a guess are:

Thompson-Jonnos old team mate and kept Hartley out of the starting line up.
Deacon-Again Jonnos old team mate who should not have been a head of Palmer or Shaw.
Stevens-played out of position for no apparent reason given there was a better younger loose head on the bench. Also kept getting selected after playing with no discipline at all.
Easter/Moody- Haskell, Wood and Robshaw should all feel aggrieved not have had more game time at the expense of these 2. Robshaw should have gone, Wood should have at least been on the bench and HAskell must be fuming having played so well to get dropped in the QF for Easter.
Wilkinson-should not have started ahead of Flood.
Tindell-should not have started ahead of well anyone.
Cueto- bit harsh on him but Sharples looked sharper and was not given enough time in the warm up games.

It looks very worrying, I know some players have an axe to grind but when a 22 year old scrum half is taking training, one of the 2 "fittest, strongest" players doesnt even make the plane while the other doesnt make the bench and when the premiership clubs are complaining that players are returning from England less fit than the players that stayed at there clubs you have think that is worse than anyone could have imagined!

^ tbf, Thompson has been the form hooker for us for ages, and Cueto was hardly to blame for the on-field performances, Tindall is playing pretty damn good at 12 for Glos atm (but what can a 12 do if there's practically no plan in attack?), and Easter was one of our best performers in the QF (although I would have preferred Haskell).

Umm seem to remember Hartley having a good 6 nations but you are on the whole correct. I wasnt blaming Cueto but why did he start all 3 of the warm up games when Sharples was only was only given half a game to prove himself. Sorry please dont attempt to defend Tindell. Best performer? well thats not saying much is it? Haskell was perhaps the best performing forward we had in the group stages why was he dropped?

The fact is these were "Jonnos boys" and although guys like Cueto cannot be blamed its obvious players like Sharples and Robshaw should not have bothered even trying to get in the WC squad.

Cockerill has already complained loudly about the state Ben Youngs was returned in; I think the HC game last weekend was his first after the World Cup as Leicester gave him time to fully recover. He was quite palpably not a hundred per cent on the field and we all knew he was injured going into the tournament. I don't see how anyone needs to be bitter to think he was rushed back too quickly.

As for Borthwick, everyone knows he's one of the game's top lineout nerds and you don't serve as Sarries' captain for as long as he has without something about you. He's simply not good enough as a player at international level, but I could well believe he has good leadership and knowledge.

I am speculating of course as is my right to say things in jest.

On the good side Herr Andrews say's he is still not going so it's not all bad

With a possible intrim 6N's manager with a view to appointing an Englishman long term.

From the BBC:
Speaking of that story, today's Times is continuing with its reporting of the leaked reports on England's disastrous World Cup campaign. They allege that the Rugby Football Union put pressure on players James Haskell, Chris Ashton and Dylan Hartley to pay off a female hotel worker not to sell her story to the papers following suggestions that they made inappropriate comments to her. The three are reported to have refused to follow the RFU's suggestion.

The way the media is dragging this all now is becoming tedius.

Lay the cards on the table, get parties x, y and z sacked and get it resolved. This years six nations will be the ultimate farce. More coverage in the tabloid sensationalist pages then the back.

Martyn Thomas to leave the RFU with immediate effect. Not sure when he was due to step down, and not sure if the leaked reports and Tindall back in the elite squad has much to do with it.

I know he heard the appeal and changed the original decision by Rob Andrew. I am just gald he has gone and hope Andrew follows. Which I very much doubt.
