Melbourne Rebels 25-24 ACT Brumbies

Danny Cipriani slots a last-minute penalty to give the Rebels their first win in SupeRugby! :D

Can I ask gingergenuis, does this still make them a crap team? A team with no real players?

Good win. Nice to see the Rebels get over their first game.

awsome game. Cipriani is looking good. Their commentators seem to really rate him too.

People need to re-think what they said by writing off the rebels from one game.

..............And I went out of my way to get Brumbies outside backs for fantasy league....

Good on 'em :D
Wonder if last week was a blip, or this week is...

Good win anyway!

What a game it had almost everything. These guys played well tonight particularly Matt Giteau, Danny Cipriani, Pat McCabe, Mark Gerrard, Julian Huxley and some others cant remember right now.

Giteau steered the ship well for the Brumbies. Setting up, tactical kicking and his drop goal was almost the difference.

Danny was equally as good, there was a time right at the end when Mortlock came over and asked Danny 'are you sure you got it?', and Danny was like 'yeah, yeah' he loves the pressure.

What about McCabes hit ups?....returns it like Jerry Collins, no other fullback in Union Ive seen hits it up like that, wonderful to watch and some good all round displays.

Mark Gerrard is still the man. His clearences are with a capital C, like McCabe good all round displays.

Awesome game.

Well this was not expected and turn the Australian conference on it's head!

Yep, both fullbacks were excellent today.
Must just say that Jonathan Kaplan is a right weirdo and the actual 'infringement' for the last kick was never a penalty in bazillion years.

Good game by both teams especialy both sets of 10s and 15s. Gerrard was immense for the Rebels at the back and Danny pitched up. High drama and a great result even if the last penalty awarded was somewhat dodgy. Cooper Vuna on the wing added an attacking spark that the rebels lacked last time out. Their discipline and gutsy defense kept them in the game and they got lucky. Good on them.

True.

The Rebels winning ruined my multi-bet so Im gutted on that note, I knew I shouldve betted on them it honestly crossed my mind argh.

I lol'ed

Argh, and to think that if I wasn't so damn lazy I could've got to a T.V. In time to see the last few minute§
then I could have really had a laugh

Good to hear, missed the second part. But great stuff from the Rebels.

!

Now that sir, is the million dollar question
Hope they don't kick on fro here, seeing as the Sharks play them in a few weeks*

* However after that they can f*** over every man and his dog as much as they please!

Good that it didn't take them nearly an entire season like the Force

Wow great game Rebels against the much fancied Brumbies side.

True about the penalty, but Speight's try was as a result of a pass that looked a little forward, so probably a justified win to the rebels

bs win, the last penalty was rubbish. i don't think speights try was forward either it was just the position speight was in made it look that way but the pass itself was behind him.

was great watching Mark Gerrad though, he's officially back, i remember he was one of Australias best players in 05 or 06 then he just disappeared. Cipriani was ok, his goal kicking was good and they played well with the kicking tactics but i felt the commentators were overrating him a little bit. On paper when i saw the Rebels team i thought it was a good team because i remember most of their players from their past teams, so i'm glad they showed that on the field for this game.
