To be fair I haven't seen that much of him, as I've only watched a few of the Rebels games (and don't tend to watch much NH Club rugby). He certainly didn't look as bad defensively as Quade Cooper (though that would be hard!), but he did miss some relatively easy tackles in those games. He is also among the leaders for missed tackles in the whole Super Rugby competition (with 19 - he's currently made 32/51 tackles (63%)), however these stats don't always give an accurate picture of a players defensive ability (though can give a good indication).

I will certainly keep a close eye on his defensive play this game, as I'm sure you've probably got a much better idea of his defensive ability than me!

Big win for the Highlanders, though the Rebels really handed it to them on a plate with their pitiful defense.

The Highlanders forward pack again set a good platform for the backs to run off. Hoeata again impressed at lock, while Thomson looked good with the ball in hand (although he did appear to be standing wide quite a bit looking to have a run with ball in hand, though you couldn't really blame him for wanting to have a go at the Rebels defense!). Aaron Smith looked sharp at halfback, while Robinson also looked good at 10 (goal-kicking aside). Really disappointing to see Slade injured right at the start of the game - looks like he will be lucky to play again in this years Super 15. Both wings were again dangerous - Poki's individual try when he ran past 5-6 players was pretty phenomenal (though the defense was really poor). Ben Smith again showed his class at fullback.... geez he would look good in a Black jersey :)

Cipriani looks like some sort of peter pan fairy queen on defense. Irritating to watch his ineptitude even supporting the Highlanders.

Kade Poki's try was possibly the worst defensive play by a team that doesn't contain Ronan O'Gara.
