RBS 6 Nations - Wales vs France 17/03/2012 - 14:45

Well, you can knock his knock ons, but who else is knocking on the door to take his spot?

Ben's a Scarlet, but Toby's a Welshman(Olyy, don't try your Tangaki Tauloupe thing:p). Hmmmm, who should I support......

Sad to hear Warburton might not be fit for June tests. Begs the question why risk him today. Hope he is ok bad news when he should be getting smashed tonight.

Wales need him, especially as they will be against the best openside in World rugby - David Pocock.

With all due respect to Saint Andre, but he got tottaly wrong this Six Nations. England got back to basis and bounced back. What did Saint Andre? Took almost the same team from World Cup and changed only a few players. And to be honest, his experiments tottaly failed. France scrum is not as good as it was to be in World Cup. I believe that Rougerie and Fritz played last game for France yesterday. They are has been. Play Fofana and that new guy. If you want experience, still there are old guys like Marty ar Traille at 13. Pointrenaud seems lacking some energy in attack and he is very good under high ball, but his positioning in defence is very questionable. Where the hell he was during first two England tries? Alsl, half-backs. Parra MUST play. Does not matter, at 9 or at 10. But please not Beauxis ever again. If you can ONLY kick, convert every drop goal you take. He tried probably 6 and scored only 1. Learn Trinc-Duc to kick. Parra really could overtake him in fly-half pecking order if Trinc-Duc kicking game does not improve. Almost forgot - Szarzewski. Probably not future France starting hooker, even he is in the mix for last five years.

Agree on many points
But first to admit that England and France were not really in the same position leaving the RWC. End of coach for both of them is the only parallel to see.

PSA looks to be orientated in a new generation team from now, do we need to blame him because he wanted to base this year 6N on the RWC team instead of making a revolution in both terms of game plan and players ?? Don't think so.
In fact I'm more worried of what he'll make with the players than who he will take (The -20 team is promising, let's hope that big clubs will make them play instead of being substitutes for foreigners vintage glories).
I've never been enthusiast with Toulon's game, despite he had a white card with the worldwide stars this club recruited, no more am I with back line management in Lagisquet's hands.

I thought, when PSA was announced, that he was the wrong choice.
The type of rugby he likes (kick kick kick kick kick kick kick) is not the type of rugby that France excel at.

Exactly, and I regret that Noves or even Galthié didn't get the job.
Novès was the man IMO, but he is too much independent to accept it without insurances from the FFR and the LNR on the means, liberty of action and work frame.
Pelous looks like to build something serious with the -20, maybe should he take more importance or replace someone in the core team if nothing improve in the coming year (hope they won't wait the 4 years traditional circle becoming a tradition since the WRC exists).

Anyone read the Western Mail today?
Something in it has riled up Mike Phillips, was wondering what it was:

Presume its to do with the crap review he got there and rightfully so. The boy was poor again yesterday.

Am I correct in assuming Wales will go above England into 4th in the irb rankings as France are rated 2 points better than Ireland?

I know that scorelines can effect the rankings so maybe the rout at Twickenham will prevent this.

Pffff...to think we were 3rd just a few weeks ago...

I don't think they do.

Well done Wales , I now have another game to watch when I get back home next Friday . Can't believe I will miss the Welsh tour games when I'm out in Australia in May/ June. . I don't plan making that school boy error in 2013 for the Lions tour in Australia :D
