RBS 6 Nations - Team of the Tournament

Well, I dunno... but I'll give you Morgan over Easter any day.
They both have huge question marks over them for stamina at test level.

Seems a bit early for this thread, nonetheless now it's in my head I can't help but think about it. Off the top of my head, JJ's a shoe-in for me, Dunbar for Scotland (shame about the injury), Sexton wouldv'e been guaranteed if he hadn't been so mediocre against Wales while Ford was great for England, Parisse is always the best eight in the tournament (even though he seems a little bit on the slide), Dusautoir has basically been Parisse-ing for France this year. Second row is the hardest position probably, POC, AWJ, Johnny Gray, Charteris and Furno all have a good shout for me.

My team of the tournament after round 3 - let the debate commence:

1. Ben Arous - Lack of stand-out performers at loose-head, Marler/Jenkins have been good not spectacular, Healy looked decent off the bench but needs more time.
2. Best - Seems to have sorted out his line-out issues, a cut above in the loose and at the breakdown.
3. Cole - Very solid, played a lot of minutes, good at the breakdown. Lee has been good but has missed time, Ross a bit of a suprise but also looking decent.
4. Wyn Jones - Goes hard for 80, MoM in Paris, spine of the welsh 8. Kruis has been a good find, but still a bit green. Furno - athletic but liable to disappear at times.
5. O'Connell - Delivers year on year for Ireland, non-stop engine. Toner deserves mention for wrecking line-outs all over the place. Jonny Gray continues to improve.
6. O'Mahony - Awesome on the floor, great work-rate. Lydiate deserves mention for his chop tackles and surprisingly soft hands.
7. Warburton - Looks to be finding his 2011 form, quick, fit and strong. Robshaw consistently delivers but loses out at the breakdown to O'Brien/Cowan/Warbuton
8. Vunipola - Still carries like a wrecking ball but has added to his defensive and breakdown game. Parisse still carrying the Azzuri pack, though less so than in the past.
9. Murray - Strong case for player of the tournament so far, does everything well or better. Special mention to Parra who on his day is absolutely world class.
10. Sexton - The best 10 in world rugby, peerless in Europe. Ford has looked promising, Biggar has a well-rounded game, Russell looked good before injury.
11. Halfpenny - Cheating I know, but he has to get in. Goal-kicking is such a weapon and very solid elsewhere. Williams brings some excitement, Lamont has carried well.
12. Roberts - Tough call to leave Henshaw and Dunbar out here, all actually quite similar players, but Robert's experience and consistency win it for me.
13. Joseph - Nullified against the Irish, but the English had very little ball, otherwise electric. Morisi has been a nice find, Bastareaud polarises opinion - great carrier but is it to the detriment of the team overall?
14. Bowe - So key to the Irish gameplan, wise head, never makes mistakes...ever. Venditti has looked powerful, Seymour I like but has missed game time.
15. Kearney - Like Bowe he's so well rounded, rarely makes mistakes, tough, huge boot. Hogg flashes but makes too many errors, McLean has been in top form for Italy but his game is limited.

Let me know your thoughts!
Im sorry but i disagree with the fact that there are no Scottish players in that team at all, Yes we haven't won a game this year but we deserve atleast one for they're efforts to win.

Something which i'm struggling with at the moment is why no one has a big mention off Stuart Hogg at 15 ?. In my opinion he is the best fullback in the tournament for me and in my opinion could get player off the tournament. Kearney i haven't watched enough off this year to judge but Hogg has beaten the most defenders and made the most metres and his defensive work against England was really good. But from watch I seen from Kearney this year. Yes he played well but in my opinion Hogg had the more impressive six nations than him.

Anyway i'll stop changing your team and i'll do my team.

1.) Gethin Jenkins - not alot off stand out players here as mentioned and i feel played better than the other competitors but this is just my opinion.
2.) Ross Ford - I just felt Best really didn't play that well in the last match and Ford has been accurate in the throw in and is playing good.
3.) Dan Cole - as Xsypher said been solid this year.
4.) Jonny Gray - It was hard for me to not mention him. His work rate is really good and his defensive work has been good.
5.) Paul O'Connoll - the same reason as Xsypher
6.) Sam Warburton - Leading Wales really well and been solid through out
7.) Chris Robshaw - Like Warburton leadership been good and his defensive work has been the best this year.
8.) Damien Chouly - Just to be different that with France losing Picamoles i felt Chouly really stepped up and made a good replacement.
9.) Conor Murray - Been playing well and done not alot wrong.
10.) George Ford - Sexton was good but didn't play alot in the tournament for my liking's. Ford is a good playmaker and played well for England
11.) Leigh Halfpenny - Been an consistent with the boot and hard to leave him out off the team.
12.) Robbie Henshaw - Playing well.
13.) Jonathan Joseph - Top try scorer. Been a dangerous ball runner, Mark Bennett was good but not done as much as JJ.
14.) Tommy Bowe - Wasn't really much wingers who done better to be honest
15.) Stuart Hogg - you know why ;)

I mentioned Johnny Gray, @ImScotty! I also agree Hogg's in with a shout, he's been very impressive in attack and defence. I'd probably go for Halfpenny in a composite team because his goalkicking is just so good, but in a simple battle for best in position, I'd say Hogg shades it.

There isn't anybody in the northern hemisphere who would start for the All Black back row.
Not until the ageing Richie moves on and then Warburton would get a look in.
Kaino the Colossus and Read are just too good to replace.
Ben Morgan wouldn't make the All Black squad until he started laying off the pies and doing his roadwork, and then his hands would let him down and he lacks the pace to play at that level for more than 20 minutes.

Seriously? Johnny Sexton would 100% make it, as would SOB on his day. Murray maybe too. Would rate O'Brien when fully fit over Warbs, who is great too.

Paul O'Connell player of tournament for me Bias but he stood up when Ireland needed him. And again showed how he's proved some critics wrong and produced some of his best rugby.

I have to say these boys are being left out a lot. Personally I went for the English half backs, I think Greenwood went for the Irish half-backs, but Biggar was consistently one of the best players on the pitch, no matter which game it was, and Webb, although he is not my cup of tea, does seem to score for fun and make great little breaks.

Interesting to see that people almost always pick a same nationality half back pairing though.

Biggar and Ford was close for me, I just felt Ford was a more consistent threat in more games.
