We've never had a complete player at 9, but Murray is shy of quality in every department - good but not good enough. Worried that he's the difference between winning and losing tight matches.

Some poor stuff from Sexton as well, but he made up for it.

When paired with a scrumhalf that actually gave him some quick ruck ball. I think we're loosing our heads a bit here, this was Italy. The scoreline flattered us, Ireland were very poor for long periods today.

Earls actually played quite well today, it's too late for mass changes now anyway with France next week, the only changes should be Ryan for DOC and Reddan for Murray. We should start experimenting for the Scotland home game(but we won't), I'd serioulsy love to see a game with Bowe at 13 and O'Mahony at 7(who was also very good today when he came on).

Earls bench please don't make me laugh. Sorry to tell you as much as i like youth O'Malley would just get bullied at 13, Earls is more built for 13, i know I'm probably gonna get flamed at by a few Leinster fans but its the truth get over it.

Earls was OK yesterday I wouldn't go dropping him after that but I would have O'Malley on the bench.

Having said that, Earls did all right there vs Italy. Would be worth testing him again vs Scotland to see if he needs to be dropped vs England, as his game vs England in the summer was just dreadful (though most of his games at 13 are, to be fair).

Unfortunately we have France next week, a considerably harder test. Hope he passes it though.

All of the weaknesses and reasons why Earls is a poor 13 weren't tested by Italy, from England's point of view they should hope he does okay there against France and Scotland, so Kidney keeps him there against Tuilagi

although to be fair, it doesn't look like Kidney is ever going to drop D'Arcy, Murray or O'Callaghan or put somebody else at 13

He's been starting scrumhalf for about 7 consecutive matches...and he was the best choice in the world cup. He's been poor in the last couple of months but if there's any position that Kidney has shown a willingness to chop and change it's been at scrumhalf.

I wouldn't be remotely surprised to see Reddan start versus France.
