'Racist abuse' stops Saints-Bath

but is it fundamentally different from saying (for example) 'ginger *******' or 'lanky *******'?
[/b]

Ah that old one...

Yes. Yes, it is totally different.

Folks with ginger hair aren't a minority race facing prejudice and discrimination. The police don't pick on tall lads 'cause all tall people are criminals.

It's all about context. You make a jibe about the colour of someone's skin you are calling down all the other **** that person has had to deal with, you are putting yourself in with the 'Us' against his/her 'Them'.

Calling someone a black ******* is racism...saying it's just the same as any other insult is sweeping it under the carpet, people ridiculing those who've got the balls to complain about racism is just like being complicit is the original insult.

for sure mate. but insulting a coloured skin person because he is a ******* (and NOT because he's coloured), if that guy says it's racism then he really is a *******. 'cause a lot of coloured people, when you inslut them, think it's because they are coloured. but they can be mother*****. to be a coloured guy does not mean you cannot be a *******. there are bloody fools in every "race" or culture (and a lot of them are white!!!) but they can also be black, red or yellow. i don't like coloured people saying : he insulted me he is racist ... no if you are a *******, you are a ******* ... we don't care about your colour !!! you are a ******* !!!

"we don't care about your colour !!! you are a ******* !!!"

If it's nothing to do with their colour don't mention the colour then.

I'm sorry but using an abusive term coupled with a reference to a person's race is racist abuse.

i know it's just what i was saying ... it seems you did not understand what i wanted to explain : some coulored ppl think you are racist just because you insult them.

I hear what you are saying but in this instance if you are just insulting the person because they are a ******* and not their race then you shouldn't mention the colour of their skin.

Calling a black person a '*******' is nothing to do with their race, calling a black person a 'black *******' is.

ok so we both speak the same language ... in fact i shouldn't have mentioned "coloured" in my last sentence

Just to make this clear one last time, I wasn't condoning any racial slur. I was simply attempting to objectionally look at the allegation.
