Referee: Leo Colgan (IRFU, 2nd competition game)
Assistant Referees: David Changleng, Graeme Marshall (both SRU)
Citing Commissioner: Paul Minto (SRU)

The two sides met on four occasions in 2010/11 with the Welshmen victorious in each instance, whilst the Blues have an impressive won 5, lost 3 record at Murrayfield in all competitions. This is the third straight year that Edinburgh and Cardiff Blues have clashed in round one.
Edinburgh Rugby will be keen to start their RaboDirect PRO12 campaign on home soil, having won their final
three games at Murrayfield last season. The Scotsmen have won their last two matches against Welsh
opposition, however Edinburgh have won just once on the opening weekend since 2005.

Cardiff Blues, who play their first ever match without Dai Young at the helm, finished last season with successive
defeats, both away from home, to fellow Welsh Regions - Dragons and Scarlets. The Blues have won their last
seven encounters with Scottish opponents in all competitions.

Currently 6-11 to the Blues

Czekaj with the Blues try, Laidlaw and Sweeney with two pens apiece

I don't know, I am using Skysports for updates, so take the given scores with a pinch of salt

9-11 now

EDINBURGH 15

  • Pens: Laidlaw 5

CARDIFF BLUES 38

  • Try: Hobbs 2, Pretorius, James
  • Cons: Sweeney 3
  • Pens: Sweeney 4

Supporters at the game reckon Edinburgh had the upper hand for the first hour, with the Blues first try coming against the run of play. Then multiple references to the parting of the Red Sea were used to explain Edinburgh's 'defense' in the closing minutes.

They also reckon Edinburgh controlled the set-pieces for the first few put ins, and then Blues caught on and negated this by throwing/ putting in skew. Had a few choice words for the ref, but I don't need to go into that

All in all they were encouraged by the performance ( bar Godman) and mitigating circumstances prevented them from building a lead which could have seen them through to the end of the game
