RaboDirect Pro 12 Final - Leinster vs Ospreys - 27/05/2012

What was going on with the scrums at the end of the first half? I personally felt the O's were collapsing but i'm no expert so can someone clarify.

I don't think we were that outscrummed to be honest..plenty of times I saw the O's scrum go back.

Ospreys probably had more reason to be unhappy with the ref, they just don't care anymore after winning. Just shows that Poite was bloody uselessg in general.

Yeah same really since he's had such a good last year! Today was one of those games where the every inch mattered. It seemed that the extra games Leinster had to play and the extra weeks preparation for the Ospreys, along with the constant changes to the Leinster team throughout the game just gave Ospreys the edge.

I'd say it evened out at the very least. I'd rather have lost 7 before have time than be a defender down in the final 10, no question about it.

Anywoo, I'm not whining. It was a cracker. In games that tight it can go either way, just happened that we were on the losing side today. When I think of the wins against the like of Clermont and Llanelli, as well as the draw with Montpellier, you'd probably say that we we due a loss in a close one.

Ospreys are a smashing little side. Certainly should be in the hunt for European honours next year.

Great game despite a p*ss poor ref.Well done both sides and thanks Shane,it'll be a long time before we see your like again.

Some are going to say Leinster were collapsing some may say Osprey's were collapsing guess who's gonna say what. Personally I think Osprey's were collapsing not on purpose though. I feel they got overconfident and overestimated their grip on the scrum leading them to do some questionable things. James' bind was also illegal.

Now what can the Ospreys do with this?
We thought we'd see a better side after the 2010 final but things went pear-shaped.
Congratulations Ospreys and Shane.

cyRil loves Dan Biggar, eh?

Yup, I was impressed with the Leinster scrum in the second half. It was basically a matter of who won the hit, when the O's did they went forwards, when Leinster won the hit they went forward. That makes Poite's decision to yellow card White even more baffling really.

In the first half the O's were on top big time though. Leinster were dropping the scrum all the time.

Leinster were certainly collapsing all but the final 2 of them!

This was literally 10 minutes too long for Leinster....... But if you look at the players we were missing you can see how the game became too much for the squad in the end.

Given the dearth of quality 12's, Beck could easily be a bolter for the Lions.

Yup , I'd love to get rid of a hit to be honest and make i9t about scrummaging again

Not really.

Some say he isn't up to it physically, but it has never been a big issue for him.
Definitely ahead of Scott Williams with regards to starting.
Big questions is given: Jamie Roberts, Jonathan Davies, and Ashley Beck, pick two.

I've noticed people saying this wtf? He's huge just cause you guys are so used to Roberts.

Yay, not just me singling his praises anymore. Roberts might struggle to get his place back in the Wales team after this Summer if Beck goes well. Beck's all round game is much better, while he's still a strong carrier. He seemed to make it over the gainline ever time he had the ball today. Wasn't much in it between Beck and Drisco today in terms of best centre.

Don't be thick.

Roberts , Bod.

Best partnership ever.
Over Gavin Henson/Keith Earls, the true 2013 partnership?
Beck runs some nice angles. His defence isn't as bad as many try to make it out to be.
Bishop seems to be getting back to some form, looks a bit quicker as well.

Not really.

Yes really..... Until the last 2 scrums you can see out props hinging and dropping the bind. I'm not saying our scrum was poor and in fact it was a battle that became in the end quite even. It certainly wasn't worthy of receiving 2 yellow cards.
