Questions reference Rugby Team Manager 2015

Thanks Dave.

Understand the win % now - cheers.

On Brandon Fajardo though, he's set up as a HK in the game with hooker's skills..... So even though he's been set up with the wrong position in game he should surely still be able to be trained into similar positions. Wouldn't the game choose the position he can play based on his position in game? Otherwise where does it get the trainable positions from?
The editor was wrongly randomising the player positions of the PRO D2 clubs, this is now fixed and will be in the next update.

Difficulty

Hi everyone,

Question for players and/or for Dave :

Is there an impact in choosing difficulty ? Exept about the budget of my club ?

I have just finished my first season with Stade Français andI saw that stamina of players (excpet injuries of course) ws always 99%. And fatigue of players was always 0 ! So, it was possible to have always the same players at kickoff of all the matches during the season. However, we know that there is a turnover during the season. And that is impossible for a player to play all matches and to be at 100%.
But I saw that players of other teams were impacted. And some opponents started match with fatigue or with 90% stamina.
So, with this advantage, I managed to win Champions Cup and Top 14.

I play with level 2 (medium).

If I play with hard difficulty, this will change ?

Thanks for your answers.

Hi Dave - After playing this game for a couple of days, and it working well, my cursor started to flicker. As such, though I can open the it when I get to the home screen I am unable to load my previous game. The mouse just flickers and won't let me select, the same happens if I try to load via the options tab at the top.

I have also tried start a new game but though I can select all clubs I am again not able to start the game as the mouse flickers and won't let me select the difficulty option. Any ideas? not being able to continue to play it is really frustrating!

Thanks

Hi JPH,

This is an odd one, please try re-installing the game (your saved game should be safe)
To re-install:

- Open Steam
- Right click 'Rugby Union Team Manager'
- Select 'Delete local content'
- Once the uninstallation has completed, right click 'Rugby Union Team Manager' again
- Select 'Install game'

- Stopped editor randomising PRO D2 player positions

We hope you are all enjoying the game.

Kind Regards

Hi Dave, thanks but I already tried re-installing without any luck. Do you think it could be anything to do with the update? It only started to happen yesterday evening after steam auto-updated the game.

It could possibly be an outside process momentarily taking the x,y coordinates away from where your mouse is.
Maybe because currently you have to hover the cursor over a selection for so long for it to expand.
So we will remove the hovering time, so the menus appear instantly. This should fix this problem for you. We will publish the update for it this evening.

Hi Dave and others,

As I said yesterday : Can you say me (and us) which differences there are between the 3 difficulty mode ? Only budget ?
And is it normal to have no fatigue with my players and be able to keep my 15 best players during all the season ?

Kind regards

Appreciate your help with this Dave but unfortunately the update hasn't fixed it. I can see its had an effect as when trying to click 'load game' the cursor no longer flickers between a hand and an arrow but it still won't let me select. Strangely I am still able to select all of the drop down menus including the 'all teams' button, despite a flickering cursor, below but neither the 'options' or 'load game' button work. Do you know of anything else that might be causing it?

Thanks

Sorry to hear that you are still having a mouse problem, this is indeed an odd one. We will of course look further into it for you. Have you installed any other new software of recent since you have had the problem?

Please could we suggest that you bring up the Task Manager with control+alt+delete and manually close down the non-System processes, then test after each one to see if the flicking has stopped. It's odd that it was working fine for a while before the problem.

The harder the difficulty, the tougher things are financially.
This can impact in many different ways. Like you may no longer be able to afford higher quality staff, which will in turn affect recovery and fitness.
Also teams will play better against you on the higher difficulties.

If you hire a top quality fitness coach and a couple of top quality physios, then players should remain fit and un-fatigued.

But this doesn't always mean you can field your best team continuously, due to injuries, bans and players on international / representative duty etc.

Hi Dave. I didn't realise playing on a harder setting affects finances (had not tried yet). I personally don't think this makes much sense as if you are managing a wealthy team it might be nice to have tough matches but decent finances as per the situation for a wealthy team in real life. Like if I played as Saracens on hard it would be weird if money were an issue given the wealth of said club. I wonder whether there should just be normal (ie as realistic as possible) for a game that is attempting to simulate rugby management? There could perhaps be an option for easy in order to help people get into the game but 3 settings don't really make sense to me unless one of the settings is the one that actually is calibrated to reflect reality the closest. Like in other sports management sims like football manager you can make the game harder simply by playing as a small team in a tough league.

Maybe just an option to not be sacked would be sufficient. If you want a tough game you can manage London Welsh with not great facilities, money and players, easy game, manage rich Saracens and turn off sackings?

Anyway that's just my view for what it's worth.

PS Thanks for update and engagement here on TRF, much appreciated. Any plans for the editor or are future plans secret until confirmation?

Hello Dave,

I have some questions.

1) How does one financially successful when going into TOP14 with D2 team in the first season? It takes to put 500K euros for each infrastructure TOP14 standards and have a lot of income to keep the remuneration expense of Team A and Team Academy. Off we only have 300K euros at best when you go up the TOP14.
How is it done?

2) Why there he always has two pools of five teams in the Championcup (Euro Tier 1 cup)? The planning of these two groups is meaningless.

3) What is the shape of the players since it's always more interesting to select the best players rather than the most fit players? The shape should take precedence over the sports level of the players right?

Thank you very much for the answers and for your involvement in improving this very good play.

Ector.

1) Clubs win 3M euros for entry into the TOP14.

2) The top of these groups progress to the 1/4 finals

3) Fitness is really important as without it the players will have no match energy

Dave, I have two game with two Pro D2 teams who gain access the first season in TOP14. I touched twice 200k euros bonus as I had finished top of the rankings ... nothing else. Never seen 3M euros, sorry.

Am I the only one in this situation?

Does a player's age, desire to play in the league/for the club, experience at pro club level, experience at international level, stats, and calibre all affect player wage demands?

In the PRO D2, the league leaders, and the winners of 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th playoff both get promoted.
Only the winner of the playoff is being awarded the 3M euros. Currently the leader's bonus isn't right, we will look at this for the next update.

OK Dave thank you for the answers and your implication.

I confirm that in France, the France Champion ProD2 ins'nt the winner of Playoff but the league leaders. So ti's logical that the league leaders get biggest bonus.

Hi Dave, I don't suppose you saw my question about wages?
