Premiership Rugby 21/22 - Rd 19

This is an important game, with Sale 4 points behind and Wuss next weekend. If we get 2 wins that pushes us into a good place when we get out internationals back(tigers wil be tough too). And its a pretty decent list of returnees.

Tigs could be about to go on a rough run with Sarries and Exeter away, in form Irish at home and then Europe.

Obviously there's enough of a lead that Leicester can take 2-3 losses in the league but I'm mostly hoping it doens't have us playing poorly going into the game in France

So both Tigers and Chiefs have Sarries, Quins and each other still to play. Tigers have a big lead while Chiefs are trying to hold on to 4th.

Gloucester will break their two game losing streak and beat the Saints.

black and white please GIF

Just realised we have a tough run in.
Sale 7th, Wuss 12th, Tigers 1st, Bath 13th, Sarries 2nd, Bye week, Bristol 10th, Quins 3rd.

This round sets us up, we win and have a good chance vs Wuss then get our big guns back(hopfully), also pushes say as far as 9 points behind us, we lose and have 3 very tough games, and given Sales form they could over take us.

I wonder if we will rest/bench players vs Wuss Bath and Bye week(obv this one) to make the fresher for the big games.

Luke James and Ewan Ashman both available this week, after being out injured, and Rodd and Raffi released by England - that's a big boost for us

Still not expecting much, based on the last few weeks, but if we can get a LBP that keeps top 6 in reach

Our last 2 wins 14 - 15 vs Falcons and 31 - 34 vs Saints. If your lot turn up it could be a tough day for both teams tbh. Id not be surprised of we lose this one.

Think its a must win for SAle to have any chance of top 4 with their next games being Gloucs, Quins, and Sarries with a resurgent (relatively) Bath in between..

Gloucs looking in good position for poss top 2 playing 6 out of bottom 7 in next 6 games.

Gloucester are definitely a dark horse for top 4, but top 2 is a stretch IMO.

Can see us getting a pasting, our injury list is insane and we have 13 academy lads in the squad (not including guys like Basham/Wacokecokd who came to us from other academies and have only had senior rugby at ours).

Busy afternoon for Luke James (it's actually Sam that starts)

Don't like the balance of the backrow, but other than that I'm happy enough with it

Out of interest on this, how has Faf been doing since he came back? Looked like he did decent in one game, but then was more average in another. Is this a case of easing him back in, or is he currently being outplayed by Quirke... or just a rotation type thing?

Definitely looks rusty, maybe trying to force things a bit too hard (two intercepts in the opposition 22 last week) - but you kind of expect that with Faf
Definitely rotation that see's him on the bench rather than being dropped, though - but Raffi not far behind him in the pecking order at all
