Premiership 24/25 - Round 13

I hate how big of a game this is for Chiefs, win this and we are on 20 points, lose and Falcons right behind us in the table. Essentially an 8 to 10 point swing for the bottom dwellers.

One positive for our season is we have 8 BPs to Falcons 1 BP, so a 5 point win would give us a nice cushion but I'm nervous about this one tbh

"If you tell the viewers that scrums are boring and too complicated, they will eventually believe you," Flatman says. "I love scrums, and they can be boring. Equally, back lines being shut down by defences and committing handling errors can be boring. Kicking can be wonderful, inspiring and threatening… but also dull.

"I'm not allowed to say 'nobody knows what's going on there' when a break happens in midfield. I won't be able to explain it quite as readily as Brian O'Driscoll or Austin Healey, but I will try to work it out. I can't say 'God knows, on to the next clip'.

"The scrum isn't going to disappear, no matter what people think, and I just think it's worth reminding people that there is a lot going on there. If something is entertaining and informative, you'd hope that someone with no interest in scrums might go: 'Ah, right. That's it, is it?'"
I freely admit to not understanding what's going on between feeding the ball into the scrum, and hoping it actually emerges unharmed out the back; but that doesn't mean that I'm not interested, or wanting to learn.

Game of the week has to be Gloucester/Bristol - that should be an absolute belter.

Didn't Slade go off injured last week? Any news if he's fit?
There was such a beautiful tackle on Slade by big Bill Mata, TV didn't quite do it justice. Was one of the biggest hits I've seen in years. He did a couple more monsters that match too, it was such an excellent game. Very fierce and fast plus had a bit of everything.

If Exeter play like they did v Bris, Falcons will be in for a long afternoon.

Yeah and he got up and carried on until he was removed by the medics.
It looked a huge hit on tv.

Will always respect a big hit or powerful tackle as much as any try. Fair play to Slade for getting the pass away.

Cautiously optimistic, but I've been optimistic going into Saints games before and we've been torn to shreds

I don't think we've won away at your place for quite some time now.

We also have to rest our other England lads so I expect us to go up without a FH (as our back up is injured). I'm expecting a pasting.

Our pack just isn't up to top 4 really, lots of young lads but we need a few old heads in there to replace what we lost.

With fin rested I really wanted to see George MC but gutted he's injured. We've not got a third choice 10 it seems.

I guess that'd be Furbank? And then Hutchinson has filled in there a couple of times too? So realistically you're down to 5th choice 😬
Hutchinson is certainly no 10, can't remember a game he's played there when we haven't looked rubbish.

Furbank is actually quite a good running 10 but then you lose our 1st chocie FB. Little make peace-cubit just needs to stay fit!
