Prem 2015/16 - Players to watch

Yeah, was a few year back now though (think at academy level he switched?).
Really good player but has missed a fair chunk through injury in the past two seasons. With Marc Jones gone I'm hoping he'll be first choice #2 this season.

Ah right interesting....

I see the rumours are flying about that we have signed the Scotland flanker John Hardie. Curious one.

And in the rugby paper a report has us as favourites for relegation.

I can't think of a single age grade 9 I've liked going maybe all the way back to Sam Harrison, but most of them have been hugely rated and we're seeing some of them like Chris Cook and Dan Robson become really fine players - so I'll guess Mitchell will turn out good in time.

The kid who displaced Braley (the captain ) in the last JWC we won looked pretty good, Townsend did last year too.

Halfbacks seem to be very difficult to gauge at age grade for some reason though... I didn't think Slade looked particularly out of the ordinary!

Henry Taylor? Yeah, he looked alright now you mention it. Stuart Townsend looked decent in his second year. I'd agree Slade didn't amazing back then.

The open side we are signing is English Qualified I think by mum or something blood.

Although not really for that sort of thing.

We actually have Mike Williams and Brendan O'Connor who are both EQ through family . Interesting to see how these guys go . We have the players in the back row before them anyway but all competition is good competition. Now we just need an international coach that will pick them haha

Tough to say for Sale - most of our youngsters have a decent amount of premiership experience because of our terrible record of injuries.
I'm looking forward to seeing how Beaumont and Haley go, and whether they can continue their (steep) upward curve and avoid the dreaded second-season-slump.
Would also love Addison to have an un-injured season (Taylor too) and Addison to accept that he's infinitely better on the wing than at centre.

Hopefully James Mitchell can get some game time - been name dropped by Peel, Cusiter and Stringer (which is a pretty impressive bunch) as being a real talent. Should get game time in the Amlin cup, hopefully a decent amount in the premiership too.

Interested in Beaumont, how good could he be? At his height I'd have thought he was more lock than 8?

Kvesic did some good things last night but was outshone by Fraser and his beard.

Don't think many people rate Beaumont he has been around a while. Didn't he captain England at some point? England need to look at younger options.

Seymour is the youngster for the future.

Don't listen to Olyy according to him every Sale player shoot rainbows and gold out of their arse.

Very VERY good. He's already bloody good, and improving every game.
He played most of his youth at lock but he plays far better at 8 imo. Very good from the base of the scrum and you want him getting the ball in his hands far more often than he would at lock.

Aye, England students ;)

Yeah, I'm not sure he'll be an England player.
Plays a similar type of game to Wood/Robshaw, but they've much more experience so I don't think a coach would look beyond them for that kinda guy.
I do prefer Gibson though - better on the ground and a better carrier.
