Predictions

To be honest most of the 6N teams didnt have a great autumn, England had 1 good game and a few ok games, good v Aus average vs New Zealand and Samoa etc. Scotland had good game against south africa and they won due to the boot of dan parks, but got hammered against NZ. Wales didnt do too badly imo Fiji was shocking but against Australia it was fairly close, likewise South Africa was very close and finally against New Zealand it was close throughout. I only caught a few of the ireland games they didn't do bad but like others they didnt shine against teams. Then only game i saw of France was Aus where they got hammered.

So this year its gonna be close I can see everyone but Italy competing for the ***le tbh and I doubt we'll see a grandslam or triple crown this year.

Why? Just because it's Lansdowne road?

Sexton confidence is shot and he isn't likely to pull any back unless Leinster have an ENORMOUS remainder of the HEC, Bowe is off form, BOD can only play at his best for 55-60 minutes, Ireland have literally no props of any quality whatsoever and the rest are all old and past it. Kidneys obsession with the Munster boys who've been around for a million years has come back to bite him as they have absolutely no players coming through at all.

Thats not completely true, you obviously didn't see Ireland's games against New Zealand and Argentina, did you? Sexton made 8 out of 9 kicks and played well. You think a bad game for Leinster means he'll be bad for the next 3 months or something?

That's just a lazy statement. Jamie Heaslip, Stephen Ferris, Keith Earls, Luke Fitzgerald are they all past it too? Kearney is also a world class Fullback when he's on form although he's way off form at the moment and him being injured is actually a blessing in disguise. Tommy Bowe is still the best try scorer in the championship aswell.

And I heard hype last season about how Johnson's young team would win the triple crown, how Ireland were aging but Ireland still got the win in Twickenham and have won 6 of the last 7 vs England. Granted, England have no doubt improved but I'd still give Ireland the edge over them in a game in Dublin.

Bowe is off form. Sextons confidence is not shot how could you think that after one bad game I suppose Carters is shot too after that game against Wales. England aren't half as good as Sky make them out to be. Wedo have props in Mike Ross if Kidney was sensible enough to pick him. England have no strength in depth. And the match in Lansdowne will be a repeat of Croke park in 07

You have a point ckell, and i'm pretty sure this is going to be a close game either way.
I personally would back England because of our stronger tight 5. It doesn't matter what Sexton's form is like if he never gets clean ball.

Has the precious rally started already? I point out tha Ireland are poor and the response I get is "Well England are shitter". I don't recall ever making any comment about England on this issue. You guys clearly are holding a defensive pattern.

Well if you actually looked at my post, I just pointed out what you said wasn't entirely true. I never said one thing about England in my post did I? I just validly made my point like you made yours. cmac95 may be a bit brash in his predictions but don't just shoot everybody down when they try to have a discussion.

Yeah this would be where England have a distinct advantage

Off the top of my head:

1. Sheridan, Doran-Jones, Marler, Golding, Mullan
2. Hartley, Thompson, Webber, Chuter
3. Cole, Wilson, Flatman, Corbisero
4. Lawes, Shaw, Attwood
5. Palmer, Parling, Deacon
6. Croft, Robshaw, Haskell
7. Moody, Saull, Lund, Rees, Wood, Armitage
8. Easter, Crane, Narraway, Dowson
9. Youngs, Care, Wigglesworth, Simpson, Hodgson
10. Flood, Hodgson, Myler, Lamb
11. Cueto, Simpson-Daniel, Ojo
12. Barritt, Allen, Waldouck
13. Tindall, Tait, Hipkiss
14. Ashton, Strettle, Monye
15. Foden, Armitage, Abendanon

Lawes is a 4, O'Connell is a 5 (and old, over-rated and made to be Lawes ***** the last 3 times they went head to head in open field play).
Croft is better the Ferris. The Irish will continue to not forgive him after the proved the English right during the Lions tour.
Actually watch what Ashton does before you say "he only brings running". Fitzgerald doesn't track the ball, offer support lines, have the out and out pace or where with all that Ashton offers. Not even close.
Sexton and Flood are on par. In fact, Flood is probably better.

O'Connell is a class ahead of Lawes as a second row as Lawes can't jump and playes more like a 6 but possibly would make it ahead of O'Callaghan. Ferris got injured on that Lions tour but was one of the best players before he was injured. You can't judge Ashton and Fitzgerald as they have completely different styles of play and I said Ashton only brings running to the game and you comeback with he brings running lines and pace:huh: . And no way Flood is better than Sexton.

You implyed Ashton is a Tom Varndell clone who can't do anything except run fast. Which is the most biased, one-eyed assessment of a player I've ever seen. I simply explained to you the error in your opinions and pointed out the other facets in his game - Tracking and Support is a lot more then just "running lines and pace".

Give me a good reason why "no way is Flood better then Sexton".

Lads, arguing is pointless. Ashton's a great player who brings more than running as are Lawes and Croft but I will say Sexton is better than Flood when both men are on form. Now, lets all agree it will be a great game and an interesting championship!

If Kidney tells the Irish to kick everything and Smith remains at reverted-to-type, I expect it'll be a particularly dull match!

I was just about to write something similar but just refreshed the page beforehand so I didn't make a *** of myself Anymore than i already have:D Everyone has their own opinions and thats what forums are about rather than arguing whose are better

Well, you know what I mean! It could be a bit like the 14-13 game in 2009. At least there'll be less kicking if O'Gara's not starting.
