PC music players

I was quite shocked to find out that not everyone uses winamp to play music off their PC. Some people actually use RealPlayer and Windows Media Player.

I know, it's weird..

I've been using winamp 7 or 8 years now, and it's been the best all round music player hands down imo. Yet I do remember their earlier version 5's boomed out alot.
My current (and old) is v5.111, and is still going strong.

What music player are you using?

I used to use MusicMatch JukeBox, then I started using iTunes but it uses up a lot of memory so its hard to have heaps of tabs open in Mozilla Firefox at the same time as having iTunes going, a pdf up and an assignment in a word processor.

So now I just open the good ol' folder where the music is kept and play it in Windows Media Player. The plug-in for Firefox where you can control it is good as well.

I use Winamp its the best and VLC media player for all those obscure files.

yeah i use media player mainly for everything. i dont see the point in downloading all these other fancy programs to play files.

i do however use vlc when media player doesnt like a video i download, but thats pretty rare.

used to use winamp but it didnt do anything that media player didnt do so i just gave up on it one time after a rebuild of my pc.

I'm afraid I've fallen to the dark side that is iTunes - I haven't looked into the ipod sync capabilities of Winamp, my player of choice, yet.

i use wmp. its easy, simple and is asthetically pleasing. ive found almost everything works on it so meh.

i had it on my old computer, and it did something that it doesnt now and it ****** me off. so if anyone knows how to.... get a, almost toolbox for it. so instead of having it in a tab, you have it with {|<<| |II| |>>|}sort of thing if that makes sence, so you can skip song, or pause without opening it up.

also had itunes once, but just felt it to be a pain to use.

For me itunes isn't the best music player thingy. Windows media is alright but winamp is simple and pretty good lol

Preach it brother!

If in doubt, use VLC [/b][/quote]
What about FLV player. I use that too...it opens certain file types that only certain industries use...

I think I know what you talking about.

It's called winshade mode. It's normally next to the exit button of the player. left of the of the button.

If you can't find it just hit F1 for help

If i opt to play a specific album windows makes it easier for me just to click one button and listen to it with Windows Media Player.
But most times i'll throw on the old winamp which has every song in my archive on there and i'll just stick it on random. Good old winamp, also been using that for about 9 years.

I use winamp, I dislike being reminded to select a new song every bloody time one ends, wit winamp I can just make it play all the music in my music at random, gives funny combinations at times :)
Never used it for deejaying of any sort though XD

I'm plannin gon buying an iPod sometime this year, so I'll have to start using iTunes then. I doubt I'll fully convert to it though.

I use VLC to watch films, since the quality is better, and since winamps sometimes refuses to give an image, you'll just hear what's going on. Not bad when watching the Daft Punk film, but for everything else that would be a problem.

The only time I use Windows Media player is to digitalise a Cd into MP3 files.

I used Musicmatch Jukebox when Napster was around, and really enjoyed it. Before that I used Winamp, but now, I'm afraid I use the ugliest, most memory-sucking, slow and stupid player of them all. ZUNE PLAYER.

Yes, I know, what am I thinking? But it's the only player that can manage my Zune, download podcasts and stuff.

winamp. i used to run a tv off my graphics card as well as my monitor. winamp was one of the few that could deal with video full screen on the telly and a game full screen on my monitor. also love the media library on it.

itunes is cool cos its got smart playlists, and it jels with ur ipod sweet as a nut ya know

Windows Media Player, I don't like the graphics of Real Player and I had some strange install problems with Quicktime
