This is some sad news. The Dragons haven't been great this year, but Paul Turner has been doing a good job down there with little recources. I'm a little concerned at where this will leave Paul Turner, as he's a good coach, with potential to become even better in the future, but this will harm his reputation.

He didn't seem all that happy this season though (when does he ever?), and hasn't conducted himself all that well in the media recently so it's understandable.

A perfect fit for Saracens then?!

How long until Kingsley Jones is named head coach, then?
Left Sale last week, was rumoured to be heading to Dragons next season anyhow, and now Turner's gone....

If Paul Turner had some decent players to work with and a Sean Holley to shove in front of the media when he doesn't want to talk (Let's face it, that's what he's there for.) he could work wonders.

Turner would be a class act for the Ospreys considering the talent thats there, Turner has a proven track record for developing players, surely he could do the same at the Ospreys.

Be interesting to know the reason for his departure, presume the argument with the WRU and reporter did not help!

Yeh, the argument with Andy Howells wasn't great, he conducted himself very badly there, even to the point of threatening Howells. However if anyone deserves to be threatened, it's bloody Howells, an absolute disgrace of a supposed reporter. He's the epitome of everything wrong with rugby media here in Wales, simply using his columns as a way to force his ill informed opinions on the masses, prepared to both laud and disgrace players and coaches at the drop of a hat, and basically 'write' article after article about nothing other than an out of context quote!

Rummaging through WalesOnline the other day, the only pundid worth taking any not of is Gwyn Jones. He uses facts and figures to write well detailed, insightfull and best of all, unopinionated articles. Unfortunately, most idiots probably find that boring, and would much prefer to read about some non story, dressed up with someone elses self obsessed, opinionated drivell.

Paul will never be really favoured by the WRU because he is more publicly outspoken than Gatland, not only that has a sticky past with the WRU. All of this will hold against him.

True, but they could do with someone like him as an assistant at least.
As outspoken as he is, he does seem to have an eye for young/ignored talent.
