Now the 6N are over, I thought it would be interesting to discuss how the players performed for your team. I considered the following categories but if anyone else has ideas, feel free to add them:

- Best player
- Worst player
- Most improved/Exceeded expectations
- Most disappointing
- 1 player from another team you want most

For England I'd say

Best player - Ben Youngs. JJ has been very good and I think Tuilagi will have a hard time getting the 13 shirt back, if at all, but the way Youngs has controlled some of the games is really good. Only gripe is he still does box kicks to nowhere.

Worst player - Jonny May. Pretty ineffectual really. I'd love to see him shine but he never seems to perform well. For someone who was in all games, Burrell. He didn't offer much as a crashball 12, did poorly as a distributing one and had pretty poor handling skills. Pity because he seemed good at 13 last year.

Most improved/Exceeded expectations - Jack Nowell with an very honourable mention for JJ. Both shown an ability to break the gain line that England have lacked.

Most disappointing - Attwood. This is more due to my very high expectations of him. He was ok but really not that effectual, nowhere near his form at Bath or as an impact sub.

Player from another team I most want - Pretty difficult, Murray and Sexton are both good candidates but I'm not sure either added to the team alone would offer a significant improvement. I think I'd take Scott Williams at 12 over Burrell.

Best - O'Connell
Worst - Jones, shouldn't be in the 23.
Most improved - Payne, looking like a 13 these last two weeks.
Player from another side - AWJ

This is easy.

Scotland.

Best Player: NOBODY
Worst player: ALL OF THEM!
Most improved: Again NOBODY!
Most disappointing: ALL.
Player from another team: probably Bastereaud because his size would help us get tries.

So disrespectful to the Scottish team as you know thats not true, i'll make a more realistic one
Best player: Stuart Hogg
Worst player: Jim Hamilton
Most Improved: Finn Russell
Most disappointing: Ben Toolis
Player from another team: probably Richie McCaw as we need someone with good leadership so he can kick laidlaw out the team.

Ireland.

Best: Johnny Sexton. Without him he wouldn't have won today.
Worst: I genuinely can't choose because to me they've all had an impact, but maybe Felix Jones.
Most improved: toss between Jack McGrath, Sean O'Brien or Jared Payne.
Most disappointing: hard to say but I think Rob Kearney.
Player from another team: Leigh Halfpenny or Jamie Roberts.

Interesting you have picked Jamie Roberts . I'd have thought someone like Jonathan Joseph would suit Ireland better . A midfield of Henshaw and Joseph would be sexual imo

Jonathan Joseph is too easy to shut down. He needs more time but definitely showcases his potential. Jamie Roberts has everything and he's a doctor. I'm sold.

Roberts is the type of player who only gets recognition when he is not playing well. For me, he's the best defensive centre in the world and the only better all round centre is Conrad Smith, who is a genius, pure and simple.

Best player: Joseph. Robshaw and Youngs other mentions.
Worst player: Burrell. Nods to May and Haskell too.
Most improved/Exceeded expectations: Nowell. Nod to Billy Vunipola, we've seen him as more than just a carrier this Six Nations, but still prefer Morgan on the whole.
Most disappointing: Attwood. Says it all that even the people who viewed him as a necessity to help out in the set piece didn't complain when he was dropped. May be better suited to being an impact sub.
1 player from another team you want most: Rory Best(/Ken Owens?) or Sexton

Best player: Hard to say, Sexton could probably get a nomination for this and worst player he was imperious V France and England muck V Wales and probably a little below his standards V Scotland, I think cmac has it right with POC

Worst player- Nobody was really bad Sexton and Best had off moments but were also outstanding at times, I don't thin you can say that Jones was worst because he didn't play so that leaves Kearney for me who was solid by no means bad but probably had a few more poor moments than others.

Most improved/Exceeded expectations- Going to give it to two players TOD and Jordi Murphy did stand up jobs filling in for SOB and Heaslip and we really didn't miss a beat with these two.

Most disappointing- Bit disappointed by Payne/Henshaw I though they might really kick on, but haven't quite meshed yet, definitely getting there but still needs time- something we don't have a lot of.

1 player from another team you want most- Number of players from other teams that would be worth a pick 1/2p, Hogg, but I think AWJ had a great tournament so him.

Do you not think he's easily shut down because he's playing outside of an under performing Burrell ? What id give to see him play centre with Scott Williams or Henshaw at the moment ! The trouble for me is he is the focal point of England's attack so opposition teams can target him knowing Burrell won't do anything anyway . When Tuilagi is back and is used as a dummy runner by ford it should create room for one or the other then I think you will see him come into his own

Best player - JJ
Worst player - Hartley (Burrell comes close)
Most improved/Exceeded expectations - Billy V
Most disappointing - Burrell
1 player from another team you want most - Murray maybe? I'd take a 12 or hooker foremost but there are no great ones in the 6N at the moment

Can this be translated into ' There are no great English 12's so there are none in the 6N'?

I mean no disrespect but i think you are dead wrong. Roberts has been incredible, some of the best form he's been in including the 2009 Lions.
Probably the most important player in the Welsh team after AWJ. There's a few English players i wouldn't mind joining the Welsh squad too!

Honestly, that wasn't meant as a insult to Wales, I just dislike Roberts as a player. There are plenty of Welsh players I'd take in the England team.

He certainly would only figure as a second row in any XV for me!!

Best - AWJ or Warburton. Both had an immense tournament.
Worst - Cuthbert.
Most improved - Scott Baldwin. Ken Owens is still the best option imo (showed that when he came on v Italy), but Baldwin could oust Hibbard from the 23 in the WC.
Player from another side - Dan Cole. We're short in the tighthead department. Why couldn't Adam Jones have lasted until the WC?

It's difficult to judge them fairly to be honest. Hibbard and Ball were both dropped at the same time because the lineout was struggling. But it's fairly difficult to tell whether it was a change of hooker or a change of lock that improved the lineout. Probably a bit of both, but I do think it's worth seeing whether Hibbard/Charteris would work. I still think Hibbard offers more around the park.

Speaking of which, Charteris for most improved for me.

- Best player Joseph, class in attack and defence
- Worst player Burrell
- Most improved/Exceeded expectations Billy Vunipola
- Most disappointing Probably Burrel again, lol
- 1 player from another team you want most Scott Williams or SOB

Best - Youngs, Joseph, Ford, Robshaw and Vunipola are imo very hard to seperate.
Worst - Hartley
Most Improved - Youngs, Joseph, Vunipola and Ford all spring to mind
Most Disappointing - May
Player from other team - Outside the tournament, Strauss or du Plessis - England need better hookers and ball carriers. Inside the tournament... Jonny Gray or Robin Dunbar. Probably Dunbar, despite my man crush on Gray.

Best player- B Youngs, nothing more to say
- Worst player- Burrell, Worse than average think those eye brows are slowing him down.
- Most improved/Exceeded expectations-Joseph, have to admit I was wrong about the lad. Didnt think he could hack at for England.
- Most disappointing-Hartley, I always said Hartley on his A game is better than Youngs but I dont think we saw his D game this year.
- 1 player from another team you want most. SOB looks like Mr Strong off the Mr Men
