U say if only a decent rugby game was made???

Rugby League was much more than a decent game!!

World Championship Rugby is what you call a decent game, but it does lack in certain places though!!

I think because of the recent rugby games, we are rating them too highly!!

We got to enjoy the games more & stop rating these games so highly (based on other sport games like pro evo). These game developers will continue making & improving rugby games, we just got to make the most of what we got for now!

Dont like rugby league. never even knew there was a decent game of it.

WCR was good for a week. Have only played it once since. If there was a rugby version of FIFA then it would be good. A PES version of rugby would be not so good.

Rugby League is much better suited to the video game fomat than Rugby Union and the PS2 and XBOX versions of it prove this... Rugby League is an awsome sport in it's own right and seeing as how the British rugby union teams have taken almost every defensive tactic they have from Aussie and British Rugby League specialists (and I point this out because I know you consider the English defence to be vastly superior to anything else), then I'd say you might want to check it (not to mention the odd NRL and SL match) out one day...

I do watch the odd Super League game and NRL when it's on. Just find it a bit flat to be honest.

Phil Larder, defense coach. Joe Lydon, attack coach. Seems the whole England set up is League based.

The union team would be nothing about the rugby league coaches. They would struggle enormously.

Thats how I felt about Union before I really got into it... Mind you to be honest had I had nothing but ZP games to watch I may never have gotten into it...

That's no surprise, the ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZP is the worst viewing in the sporting world.

Why would a PES version of rugby not be so good??????

If there was a FIFA version of rugby it would look good visually, have all the correct teams and licenses, but play like a piece of crap..............

THAT would not be so good......................

A hybrid - Teams and Licences and Presentation and Visuals of FIFA
Gameplay and Realism like PES

A good rugby game needs to have all the ZP, S12,NPC, Teams at least to have some replay value.

That's true, PES lacks on the visual and presentational side. Well, compared to FIFA anyway.

Yes i agree with on on the fact of visal & presentational side, but the gameplay has to be the main factor of any game!

I would much rather a pro evo version of rugby that flawed in the visual & presentational side but was great in gameplay

If any rugby game looked like the visuals of PES then it would be a HUGE improvement.............

I sort of like how the players look in PES.................check out individual expressions through the "next player" cam when a goal is scored - expressions are great........

more news from PESinsight..........

-Indicator displaying the amount of Injury Time
- Default Master League players (Huygens, Valery etc.) can be turned off
- Ball physics are now affected by the stadium in which the game is being played. In stadium "A" the ball may only have a small amount of bounce, but in stadium "B" a ball may be seen to bounce more freely.
- 6 star difficulty can be unlocked in WEN-Shop
- MVP award for best player of the year in ML, with that award you can update your players.
- 3 types of ML; Default ML Team, Real Team Members and Original Team (Default ML Team + the abilty to swap three default players for three real life players)
- Feints are completely enhanced - There will be a slow feint and
and a faster feint of (Pushing L1 contiously) Feint, and will be more
effective to fake the opponent.
- New fakes will be used - Beside those there will be a left-right
fake, player is going to fake as he is going right, and then he will rapidly
drag the the ball to the left. It is quoted that in we7 these kind of
actions were also avaliable manually , but this time, it will be clear and
effective as a fake in we8..
- Special actions for MANY specific players: And also, there
would be some special actions for players. Kenji said that it says Special
combinations for MANY specific players ' .. As far as we concerned
there were only special actions for Del Piero (special shooting) and Raul
(Special turn). It says you'd get amazed when you see these actions and
these will be complete suprises for you.
- New Ball Control : It says '' In other we series, player first
holds and touches the ball and then turn. Only by pressing L1+R1 freely
you can do some tricks. But in WE8, player with a high technique will
controll a pass with a minimum touch on the ball, and turn his body to the
direction that you want him to go.
- Pace and Accelaration Difference will be clearly seen '' It
says, even a player has a slow pace and accelaration, it was easy to go from
wing and make a cross was easy. Especially computer used players with slow
paces, can make great distances with ball wihout losing. In we8, differences
between attributes (especially pace and accelaration) will be seen very
clearly.
- AI is improved alot, Sidebacks will be more
affective thoroughout the game, and player logic and decission making
is completely enhanced. Especially shooting decisions are tuned a lot. It
says
- 5 star leveled match will be a real challenging and realistic match
with WE8'
- Many in-game and demo- based animations are added. Assistant referee animations for offside and conflicts between players
after fouls are added.

Can't wait for it even more now - sounds like it will be the best yet. The free kicks still need sorting out though - never have been at ease with them.

Though I've always enjoyed taking a team of unknowns in Master league, I would look forward to just 'jumping in" with the real players from my favourite team..........

I love building my own team on Master League myself - scraping promotion to keep the team going on Ultra Hard mode is brilliant, if very hard!

It will be good to finally have the team you ought to have instead of having to build it for once, just for when you want to treat yourself.

Looking forward to more stadiums and licenses, myself. PES fully licensed and looking like FIFA... How good would that be???

The "mid point" master league option sounds interesting. Basically you get the old master league team but you get to swap three real life players into it at the start of the master league season........sort of moves you ahead by about a season in the old master league mode.......
