It still amazes me that if you see the above picture for example, that the player is not considered being out, despite his body being completely over the line. Yes,i know he is in the air, but that's not the point i'm making. The rules are the rules as they say.
Do you think that you should be out even if you're not touching the sideline? That's the approach of the AFL, but only with the ball (you can be completely over the sideline and hold the ball infield and still be ok. However if you did that in Rugby I reckon then you'd also open the door to not needing to ground the ball for tries - making them more like NFL touchdowns
