Last years encounter between these two teams was another close one with Tasman coming out on top 34-29 after a big second half.

Can they do it again or will the Taniwha be too good at home?

Here is the Tasman Makos team to face the Taniwhas, courtesy of the New Zealand Stuff website http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/provincial/5278457/New-cap-adds-balance-to-Tasman-Makos

... good to see some old faces return, and some pace out wide in the form of Scott (if he has recovered from injury) and McGoon, the Canterbury import

Tasman Makos: Robbie Malneek, Lucky Mulipola or Mitchell Scott, Kieron Fonotia, Andrew Goodman (cpt), Willie McGoon, James Marshall, Steve Alfeld (vice-cpt), Mark Bright (vice-cpt), Shane Christie, Jonathan Poff, Joe Wheeler, Riki Hoeata, Fai Mika, Francis Smith, Sam Prattley. Subs: Quentin MacDonald, Craig Moore, Pablo Heuete, Liam Squire, Shawn Begg, James Proctor, Scott or Jack Umaga, James Hadfield

I'm hoping that the Makos can win it, but its a big ask to beat Northland at home, particularly if they have their big name players playing (Payne, Ranger, and Munro)
