Who are from the SH, who are born in New Zealand. Most NH clubs would have more pacific islanders than our provincal squads. Atleast we don't have to buy washed up players from other countries to make our competitions look good.
No, just steal them from other countries to make the national team look good.

and you have no idea about the sh comps.

the focus especially for the nz teams in the super 14 is having playing that can play for the all blacks. this why they rarely have international players from other countries and only often have 1 or 2 in their squads. I think the current crusaders starting lineup actually has 0 foregin players in it and other like the blues have only 1. also as others said a lot of these island player were either born in nz or moved over when they were very young.

this is compared to the nh were it is not uncommon for teams to have at least 3 or more foregin players in their teams.

In the Celtic League, there are very little forign players in the squads, as the unions contract the players as well. If you look at many line-ups in the CL, there is normally only 1 or 2 foreign players.

However, in the GP and Top14, there are more foreigners because there are no contracts with the unions, hence the constant arguing about players and their release, and also, there are more clubs, meaning players are thinned out more.

Anyway, as this is a thread about transfer activity, an updated list;

Confirmed

Arscott to Bristol.
Bortalmi to Gloucester
Nievo to Gloucester
Lawson to Gloucester
Lee Best to Worcester
Morris to Worcester
Soane Tonga’uiha to Saints
Shaun Berne to Bath

Lee Thomas to Sale
John Bryant to Sale
Abbott to Quins
Luscombe to Quins
Strettle to Quins
Chris Hala'Ufia to Quins
Golding to Falcons
Chris Whitaker to Leinster
Trevor Hogan to Leinster
Stephen Keogh to Leinster
Gary Powell to Cardiff
Ryan Powell to Worcester
Matt Jess to Dragons
Joe Bearman to Dragons

Thanks to those who added.

Looks almost certain that Phil Vickery is leaving Gloucester, in another case of a player demanding high wages without proving their fitness (*cough* Tindall). Wasps looks a likely destination, but it's just a strong rumour right now.

Apparently Salesi Finau, who was only on a short-term deal at Bath, will be at Newbury next season.

He turned thirty on 14th March, so he could still have three years or so in him. The point is that, like certain other England internationals, he hasn't had a sustained injury-free period since the World Cup.

Maybe a change of scene is what he needs.

You guys aren't keeping the big man? All you have to do is teach him to carry the ball in 2 hands...

EDIT;

Volley
Nicola Spanghero
Kohn
Peter Cook

All to Quins

According to the official rules of the Celtic League, teams are only allowed to have a maximum of two foreigners in the matchday squad.

Rule 5.3

I think it's sad that NH clubs can't develop their own players.
Clearly doing some research before coming out with crap like that is frowned upon in Southland.

No?

Looks like the Blues broke that rule on Wednesday when they fielded Xavier Rush, Kort Schubert and Mark Schterbina :rahh:

It's just to confusing having him, Zak and Filise all on the pitch at the same time, all with pretty much identical builds. If anything, Sally's the fattest of the three.

He was only a stop-gap solution when we had tons of centres out. All being well, next season we'll have Barkley, Berne, Fuimaono, Crockett, Cheeseman and Davis to pick from, and Maddock showed he can play 12 when he needs to.

Finau has been good, but he came to us in awful shape from the Scarlets. As he's got fitter he's actually been quite impressive.

Have none of them become nationalised Welshmen?

I expect some of them have found European passports. I remember when Stransky was at Leicester he qualified as an EU-player as he had a relative from Luxembourg. There are all sorts of loopholes.

Well Stchterbina definately isn't. The whole reason he left Saints is because you couldn't have him and Spencer on the field at the same time.

Kort Schubert has been with the Blues for a while, i think 4 years in fact
You'd think with a name like that he'd have at least SOME German blood in him. Poor sod.
