I think the appeal hinges on the phone if it was destroyed after the NFL said they didn't want it as Brady says I imagine they don't have a leg to stand on.

However if he can't prove that he's going to struggle.

Seems that way, they've almost treated it like criminal evidence, disposure of the phone here is seen almost as admission or acknowledgment of guilt. Personally, as much as I respect and admire him for what he's achieved in his career, I think he was aware of what went on, dunno to what extent though.

True but it seems he's produced records as much as possible and it is really blowing up in the commissioners face. Also if Brady was to be involved (there's still no proof anyone was) I'm sure he's smart enough not to use a phone traceable to him.

Yeah, maybe should have phrased that differently. Who's interested in doing one?

Gidday guys,

I'd be interested in joining a fantasy league.
I've played it before, but big time NFL fan.

Got room?

I think the Brady suspension is BS.
The investigations finding was worded something along the lines of that Brady "probably" had some inclination that the balls were being deflated.

That's not enough to suspend a guy for. To surmise that someone "probably" knew without proving any real evidence would be laughed out of court.

Here's Brady's words:

"I am very disappointed by the NFL's decision to uphold the 4 game suspension against me. I did nothing wrong, and no one in the Patriots organization did either.
"Despite submitting to hours of testimony over the past 6 months, it is disappointing that the Commissioner upheld my suspension based upon a standard that it was 'probable' that I was 'generally aware' of misconduct. The fact is that neither I, nor any equipment person, did anything of which we have been accused. He dismissed my hours of testimony and it is disappointing that he found it unreliable.

"I also disagree with yesterday's narrative surrounding my cellphone. I replaced my broken Samsung phone with a new iPhone 6 AFTER my attorneys made it clear to the NFL that my actual phone device would not be subjected to investigation under ANY circumstances. As a member of a union, I was under no obligation to set a new precedent going forward, nor was I made aware at any time during Mr. Wells investigation, that failing to subject my cell phone to investigation would result in ANY discipline.
"Most importantly, I have never written, texted, emailed to anybody at anytime, anything related to football air pressure before this issue was raised at the AFC Championship game in January. To suggest that I destroyed a phone to avoid giving the NFL information it requested is completely wrong.
"To try and reconcile the record and fully cooperate with the investigation after I was disciplined in May, we turned over detailed pages of cell phone records and all of the emails that Mr. Wells requested. We even contacted the phone company to see if there was any possible way we could retrieve any/all of the actual text messages from my old phone. In short, we exhausted every possibility to give the NFL everything we could and offered to go thru the identity for every text and phone call during the relevant time. Regardless, the NFL knows that Mr. Wells already had ALL relevant communications with Patriots personnel that either Mr. Wells saw or that I was questioned about in my appeal hearing. There is no 'smoking gun' and this controversy is manufactured to distract from the fact they have zero evidence of wrongdoing.
"I authorized the NFLPA to make a settlement offer to the NFL so that we could avoid going to court and put this inconsequential issue behind us as we move forward into this season. The discipline was upheld without any counter offer. I respect the Commissioners authority, but he also has to respect the CBA and my rights as a private citizen. I will not allow my unfair discipline to become a precedent for other NFL players without a fight.
"Lastly, I am overwhelmed and humbled by the support of family, friends and our fans who have supported me since the false accusations were made after the AFC Championship game. I look forward to the opportunity to resume playing with my teammates and winning more games for the New England Patriots."
As NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport noted on Wednesday, the Patriots are not changing their reps at quarterback and still carry the belief that Brady will be on the field come Week 1.
Apparently, Brady shares that belief.

I think Goodell will eventually have to concede that the NFL have no real evidence.

Hahaha I'm no Pats fan, but Brady is the man.
4 Rings is the answer to any argument to the contrary

EXACTLY!

And he has won 4 times... he can't be a cheat! ;)

This season is going to be a lay down misère for the Seahawks I reckon.

They SHOULD have won last year, and they look even stronger this year with the acquisition of Jimmy Graham from New Orleans at Tight End.

I'm seriously considering slapping a large bet on this at the local bookies. Paying 5/1 here in NZ.

It's their last best shot too. Wilson is going to get paid, either in Seattle or somewhere else. Lynch is aging and that fantastic secondary is starting to break up. It's win now time for the Hawks.

Seahawks, Cowboys and Packers should be favourites at this point. Steelers, Broncos, Ravens, Cardinals and Patriots would be next in line. My dark horses would be the Eagles (crazy Chip), the Vikings (finally a servicable QB) and the Giants (Eli's four year curse upon the Pats must continue.)

Backing NFC hard!
I think the Cowboys are going to be a bust this year. Their running game has taken a massive hit with Murray's departure. I must admit that I haven't seen a lot of McFadden but by all accounts he sounds like a journeyman at best.
Agree that the Packers will be the biggest challenge to the Seahawks and could trip them up before the SuperBowl.

No one seems to be giving my Texans team any shot.
I know we don't have a marquee QB, but I think (Coach) Bill O'Brien has the pedigree to turn the 2 journeyman QBs (in Ryan Mallett and Brian Hoyer) into performers. Plus we have the strong running game of Arian Foster and our defensive line is brutal ..JJ Watt, Cushing (fit again), Wilfork, and hopefully Clowney.
I'll be genuinely disappointed if we aren't in the playoff picture at the end of round 16

In breesus we trust gentleman.

Unfortunately the Saints Attack is going to suffer.

Spiller or Ingram could go Ham but wouldn't hold breath.

Cook also has a huge future IMO.

It's not that the Texans don't have a marquee QB, it's that they don't have a QB that's close to servicable. Give them someone from the second tier like Tannehill or Dalton and they'd be SB contenders. As is they'll do very well to get out of their division.

And the NFC is far stronger than the AFC.

Luckily we have a kind schedule.

Hahaha, so I just read that both Kam Chancellor and Michael Bennett are looking for new deals and considering holdouts. Hawks' last chance.

I can't argue that point when you look at all the evidence.
Still... AFC won it last 2 out of 3...

I know I'm a one eyed fan, but I think Hoyer can go better than he did in Cleveland. Lets face it; as much as everyone loves the lil battlers - The Browns - they are a rubbish team.
O'Brien has worked with Hoyer before and sees the potential there.
If he can pull a 9-7 season out of Ryan Fitzpatrick, Mallett (one game), Kase Keenum and Tom Savage (Rookie 3rd round QB ), then he can certainly go better with Hoyer (IMO of course)

Hoyer is terrible. Really terrible. Do not expect an upgrade. The only reason he looked serviceable last season was due to Shanahan's play action offense giving him a lot of open WRs. but he still wasn't nearly accurate. Once their running game stopped producing and Alex Mack went down injured he started to look very suspect. Unless Arian Foster can have an absolutely huge year I don't think he's good enough to make the Texans do anything serious this year. Which is a shame, because they're a very talented team outside of QB, but there's a reason that the quarterback usually gets the MVP.
