Seahawks are the defending champions. Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch are an incredibly potent pair in the back field while the lack a bit out wide. Their defense (collectively known as the legion of boom and featuring top class players like Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor and Byron Maxwell) is the best in the NFL. In the conference game (think semi-finals) they pulled off a pretty miraculous (and heart wrenching for yours truly) comeback at home against Aaron Rodgers' Green Bay Packers in the final 5 minutes. If they win they'll be the first team in 10 years to put two ***les back to back. The last team to do it? The New England Patriots featuring Bill Belichick as coach and Tom Brady as QB.
The Patriots demolished the Colts in their conference game to make it to SB 49. They're all about Brady and his favourite target, tight end Rob Gronkowski, an absolute giant who's nearly impossible to contain. In my opinion they're the weaker outfit in terms of talent, but Brady is arguably the greatest quarterback of all time and has the ability and balls to pull his team through against anyone. Belichick is a similarly talented coach and has turned a lot of these Patriots players' careers around. I'm rooting for them, mainly because Tom Brady is an absolute class act, on and off the field. His wife is also a supermodel, so there's that.
