Think it'll be definitely tighter. Patriots won't be intimidated. I think last year Bronco froze and well as we remember famous snap that Peyton had to give up points for was start which destroyed Broncos. They just couldn't function but dare I say in past 12 months it became clear they aren't mentally tough. Patriots are tried and tested.
Both have excellent D, top class QBs and various threats be it rushing or passing.

And yet Wilson has never lost against the "elite" QB's. His ability to move could be the deciding factor as Revis et al cant be effective if Wilson gets 50+ yards.

Ha ha it's a game where knowledge is easy but difference of opinion and everyone right in some way.

True, it's the kind of sport where so
much is happening in any given play that any conclusion can be justified! That's what I really like about NFL actually, there is so much going on that for a total novice it's always a fascinating mystery.

I need to arbitrarily pick a side to make it more interesting. Which team has the best story...?

Yea that record is remarkable and it's going to be interesting. And if he wins tonight I can see him go on to possibly be 1 of greatest QBs of all time. He's so comfortable out of pocket and a constant threat. I've always said him and RG3. That's the difference of a serious knee injury. RG3 was similar in rookie year but Wilson just has the better decision-making and rarely gets in to trouble on the field.

Seahawks are the defending champions. Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch are an incredibly potent pair in the back field while the lack a bit out wide. Their defense (collectively known as the legion of boom and featuring top class players like Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor and Byron Maxwell) is the best in the NFL. In the conference game (think semi-finals) they pulled off a pretty miraculous (and heart wrenching for yours truly) comeback at home against Aaron Rodgers' Green Bay Packers in the final 5 minutes. If they win they'll be the first team in 10 years to put two ***les back to back. The last team to do it? The New England Patriots featuring Bill Belichick as coach and Tom Brady as QB.

The Patriots demolished the Colts in their conference game to make it to SB 49. They're all about Brady and his favourite target, tight end Rob Gronkowski, an absolute giant who's nearly impossible to contain. In my opinion they're the weaker outfit in terms of talent, but Brady is arguably the greatest quarterback of all time and has the ability and balls to pull his team through against anyone. Belichick is a similarly talented coach and has turned a lot of these Patriots players' careers around. I'm rooting for them, mainly because Tom Brady is an absolute class act, on and off the field. His wife is also a supermodel, so there's that.

Green Bay was the first time I'd seen Wilson make the size and number of errors that he did but he never once looked flustered and it seemed inevitable by the end he'd win it even in that unbelievable way.

Imagine what he could do with a Bryant/Megatron etc type WR.

Percy Harvin was no dirt tracker. A jerk, but very talented.

2 things here though. 1 look at way he responded. And 2 is for the first time in 2 seasons that was the first bad numbers. That's impressive for rookie. He stayed calm and collective. Off the field he's supposedly down to earth and a man who never takes talent for granted and works the long hours. Now no doubt Brady is same. But oh yea imagine Wilson with Megatron/Bryant that would be scary.

Tony Romo is just as good as Russell Wilson. Better arm, less mobile.

While I've gained a lot of respect for Romo I'd disagree. I think Wilson has that bit more mentally and well yes he has the better mobility and if Cowboys had that they'd be still around tonight. As Romo hasn't obviously with his back but not manny QBs have Wilsons rushing game. It keeps a defensive system more honest.

The whole "Romo not being mentally strong" bs is about 8 years out of date. He went 8-0 on the road this year and was the only QB to win in Seattle. Highest QB rating this year, best 4th quarter passer rating of anyone since 2006. All of this is with two broken bones in his back. Romo is mentally strong as ****, anyone who watched the Lions game this year would be able to attest to that. Also, an MVP nominee.

Sorry you misread point nothing to do with Romo mentally weak. More Wilson is 1 of sharpest around. Has that quick thinking to act and can act. Romo can't due to his injury record. As I said my respect for Romo went through roof this year. More that Wilson is able to do both very effectively gives him an edge in my eyes. Certainly not dissing Romo. He deserved every plaudits he got this year and I'm not saying Cowboys failed because he was at the wheel he almost finished Packers with Bryant and certainly nothing was wrong on Romos part. As you point out he has better passing but Wilson hasn't a bad arm and the fact he's a dual threat and up there in both assets is my point.

Hosting a party for it but holidays finish tomorrow so up at 6:30 :(.

Can't wait, I wonder will the seahawks end up regretting losing Golden Tate after tonight.

Throw in at 11:30. Microwave popcorn should be set at 11:26 
Thank you sir! Unfortunately Cork robbed the Dubs in the big season opener today but you can recover from a 1st round loss in a the NFL I suppose...

Hoping for a New England win tonight, my reasoning? I don't like defensive teams in any sport even ones I know **** all about and I like the sound of the Gronk, sounds slimey yet likeable.

I put £15 on them to win just before they started their come back.
£100 in the bank #oosh
