New England starting 15?

Wade was injured.

It's a coin toss between Waldrom and Morgan for me. I have to say I think Waldrom has the edge... just.

Exactly. The reason for teams winning a good amount of their lineouts isnt because the throw-in was straight; that's expected. The stat compares what ercentage ofthe time the lineout operator or whoever wins it for his team.

That said, Webber is usually fine. I'm just having a moan that the one usually stable element of our game went out the window today!

Yes and no, we've all seen hookers absolutely demolish **** for their teams and give their jumpers no chance (and sometimes the jumpers give the hooker no chance)

Yeah, it's silly to be thinking of dropping a player for one bad day in the lineout. Hartley's had a brief period where he couldn't throw straight and got over it pretty quickly.

All hookers have a rep for having mares from time to time. Wally must be one of the most infamous for never being able to throw straight until maybe 2 years ago, for club or country.

One of the commentators on sky said yesterday that he expects Tom Croft to start for England in the 6 nations. I think that although I thought he was v. impressive yesterday, surely the 6 shirt is Robshaw's to lose for now because of his recent form?

6. Croft
7. Robshaw
8. ?

19. Wood

That is how that particular balancing act works

I do like Croft and I do like Robshaw, but having two 6's in a backrow is not the best option (look how it went in the WC). I don't think Croft and Robshaw wouldn't work necessarily, I just like the idea of having a fetcher in the new England team, and therefore would reserve 7 for Seymour.

However, I'm not sure whether Lancaster would/will start Seymour, so in reality I would actually prefer Croft/Robshaw to Robshaw/Wood, but that's just me.

I really hope that Robshaw doesn't start at 7.

Wood, Seymour, Saull - anyone who is actually a fetcher please!

Seymour has made more turnovers in the Premiership though.. I always thought Wood was more of a defensive flanker (a 61/2 if you like...)

Aye, Wood is a fetch, and a very good one at that,

If he joined Sale he'd be 4th best though ;)

Nope, you've been listening to the bullshit that came through the BBC during the last six nations.

Remember Wood spent most of this season in New Zealand while Seymore has played just about every game - of course he's won more turnovers. Same as Brown has made more metres and beaten more defenders then Foden by virtue of the fact he's played twice as many premiership games this campaign.

Indeed. I think there's an option in using a fairly stocky 6 at 8, so 6. Croft 8. Robshaw might be an option, but I'd rather just take two quality 6s to compete against each other. Croft is one of the fastest flankers anywhere - him coming on to tired legs seems smart. The only issue then is captaincy: if Robshaw is the captain, can he be subbed off? I like the idea of him being captain and Wood vice-captain though, captaincy to change if/when Robshaw goes off the field.

England have not really had a propper fetcher ever since Jack Rowell decided England needed a trio of 8's in the back row (being Rodber, Richards and Ben Clarke - eventually replaced by Back and Dellalglio). Even when Richard Hill was in the team, he and Back both played this "6 1/2 roll" where the open-side would tackle but wouldn't scavenge. Hence why the idiot media in this country think Moody is a good 7 as they don't understand the differences between the two flanks.

Seymour has earned the 7 jersey in my opinion
and as much as i hate saying it I like banahan just not the way England have used him so far and considering he is only 25 ...

Banahan is only good at club level when on the wing.
He's a terrible centre and is terrible in an England shirt.
His time has (hopefully) passed - he's got 8 times as many caps as Anthony Allen, where's the justice in that?
